underrated recordings/boots/live shows/whatever

As we all moan for more official releases, I come to the conclusion that there's probably a large amount of stuff we haven't heard just cause there's so much. I know a live show is different to hearing actual new studio stuff, but...

Post about any boots or recordings you really think are special that maybe a lot of people here haven't given a chance. Surely someone's bound to find something captivating.

There are shitloads of great recordings but the majority here will bleat that they're not "pristine" enough.

This has always been a favourite of mine:

Fine Line Café
Label : 4DaFunk
Catalogue : #4DF 023-024
Disc Length : 54:00 / 55:16
Source : Audience Recording
Sound Quality : VG+
Year Of Release : 2005

5th December 1987
Disc 1

1. Instrumental Jam 2. Eleven 3. Horn Solo 4. Villanova Junction 5. Just My Imagination 6. Bass Solo
Disc 2

1. Freddie Freeloader 2. Jack U Off 3. Drum Solo 4. Chain Of Fools (including It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night) 5. Housequake (including Cold Sweat)

Madhouse Opening Act - Sign O' The Times Tour - Stadion Galgenwaard, Utrecht : 20th June 1987

6. Mutiny 7. Two 8. Three 9. Band Introductions 10. Six

Basically a lengthy instrumental jam session. Far from perfect sound, but since this kind of thing will probaby never see the light of day officially, it's pretty much essential if long jams/instrumental music is your bag.

There's a bootleg of a Controversy Tour show from Columbia, SC that is awesome.

For whatever reason Prince and the band were on fire that night.

Insane energy and the soundboard recording is pretty crystal clear.

This is how I like my Controversy.

Wonderful quality soundboard, sourced from the old City Lights set but this has been much improved.

A (possibly) little known collection of Gold era outtakes. Slightly different versions to those that were released officially.

Outtakes 93-94 on the FAAB label.

I would highly recommend the boot (soundboard) from the "Controversy" tour in Minneapolis.
The sound is great as the setlist (almost the full "Controversy" album is sung).

4 Those of U on Valium (SOTT preshow)

Hallowed B Thy Name (Gold aftershow in Brussels)

Nudity (Nude tour rehearsal I believe?)

There are Lovesexy shows from Nagoya, Sendai and one other Japan location. All are excellent.

Funky Party 2 Nite (Parade show with "It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night" recording used on SOTT)

Anything from The Ultimate Live Experience

Trojan Horse (of course)

Controversy Houston

Wonderboy (SOTT Paris)

One Night Alone Live in Chicago is one of my faves. Midway through the show when he lets loose on 1+1+1=3 to Sing a Simple Song is just so fun and funky. "The usher dropped the popcorn!!"

We had a party years back and someone stole the CD and a bunch of others sad. Still sad to this day. I have it taped on cassette that when I desperate I will reconnect my old walkman to my stereo to hear it...but it was a GREAT boot.

Nice choice.
Sabotage released some great ONA gigs and despite them being audience recordings, the quality is mostly excellent.

A dream come for me would be a pristine soundbaord recording of this show. One of my all-time favorites!

the people who saw WB's recording of it said it wasn't all that, but interesting to see knowing what kind of Live act monster he would become just a few years laters.
Hopefully this one will leak or better yet be released some day.

Same. That jam with the 'good morning to you' chant is electric.

.

My first and favourite live boot is This Is My Night (DNA 93 aftershow). That live version of Come still gets me now.

.

Closely followed by We Got No Love 4 Bootleggers (Manchester Academy 2014), mainly cos I was there. Felt like an aftershow with it being a small venue and was surreal to be 10 feet away from him
