The 1976 demo tape! I always thought it had Soft and Wet on thereā€¦ on the label it says 1977 though. I wonder if these be from either the Sound 80 or Moonsound sessionsā€¦

Some of those memos and such are fun to see, for me. The questions, and he just writes "yes," "yes," then "fine" at the bottom. ha Not sure what that strikes me as funny.

On one where WB INTL had "Sexy MF" and "Black MF In the House" lined up, he said, "Please, no!"

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Interesting to note that Prince was asked if Carmen Electra would open the Australian and Japanese 192 tour shows in addition to UK and the Netherlands - and the answer was simply "U.K. Holland".

This was the first Prince Concert I saw - It was instead opened by Djaambi (A local Koorie Rock Band) instead (Note misspelled on Prince Vault).

I have the original 1987 Longbox CD release of the Black Album. I believe only like 10 escaped into the public. Mine is cut at the bottom to get the CD out. Otherwise in pristine condition. I paid $10.000 15 years ago. Yeah yeah I also paid too much for the vinyl release. Crazy times back then

You can pay me $30k for the Longbox. Then resell it to some crazy fan and get a car.

I really don't think I appreciate your attitude. You have absolutely NO clue what I have in my collection which I've been building since 1978. And it really doesn't matter if you know. But show some respect. I met Prince many times and sometimes he gave me special gifts. I released the set of 30 Years Of Unreleased Funk (For Free). If you want to pay me for that now then please do. Otherwise back off.

Can U share pics please? Thanks.

In my collection, I would say that an orginal pic from Jeff Katz (Parade era) is my most expensive item.

Just in case anyone was confused, the guitar is one of the recently made modern replica instruments made by Dave Rusan, who of course also made the originals. Obviously, anyone can order one of these brand new to be made, with a waiting list ofc, and this particular one is in a weird colour (tennis ball green) so I really think the auction estimate of sale price is a bit over the top.

You see how that word "Cloud" is highlighted?

That's a direct link to the exact guitar in question.

It's still a great item and it's definately not confusing lol

My point is that you can buy a new guitar exactly like this from Dave, only brand new and with a less... unorthodox colour finish, for 8k usd which is substantially below the estimate on the auction site. So someone is confused there. Maybe it's the word "original" muddying the waters a little bit. Not everyone on here is a guitar player, some may confuse the adjective with the brandname.

Dave Rusan built the original, so this is not a korean (no offense to cheap knockoff asian attempts) knockoff.

Of course, no one claimed otherwise. Maybe you misunderstood?

It's a lovely guitar. The luthier responsible will happily make you a similar one in whatever colour you like for substantially less than the estimate on this auction plus buyer premium, is my point.

I have the original Longbox CDs for his first 10 albums.

I belive only a few thousands have escaped into public.

Mine are not cut at the bottom, they are still re-sealed (with pritt),

You can have them for seven pair of cotton socks size 41,

5 white new briefs size medium,

a new battery for my electric Denver step,

plus one tube of toothpaste,

10 gram of maroccan weed,

sunscreen 50 spray,

and the empty tank of my car filled up with 95.

All the things i need to shop for tomorrow.

So back in the day, I ordered a (I think) Japanese promo of Sexy MF prior to the single's release from a niche uk mail order music catalogue that specialised in Prince music. It had 'You Aint Shit MF' listed on the tracklisting, which is why I ordered it, as I didn't know what the hell it was.

Then a short while later I got my cheque returned (remember those) with a note saying that the release had been cancelled.

I had completely forgotten about the name of that track up until reading it in this thread.

blah blah blah

Man, a few of these items I had and gave away over the years, namely the Act II program, D&P program and one of the gold pins from the prince album. All going for top-dollar now!

I still have the Purple Rain tour book that I picked up almost 30 years ago in a Prince collector's event.

Why did the sealed original copy of The Black Album disappear from the website? How much did it ultimately go for?

I think the stuff that disappeared didn't meet their reserve price. There were a few items like that which didn't sell.

The sealed copy of The Black Album, I think it landed at around 16k
