Like A Prayer - Super Deluxe Edition? Madonna and Warner Bros. are apparently going to reissue remastered versions of all her albums... And these reissues are going to contain previously unheard versions. https://www.papermag.com/...75747.html ...a multi-year initiative to reissue all her past albums, remastered, which will include previously unheard versions and rarities so mythic the reveal of them could send certain corners of the Madonna fandom into bouts of foaming-at-the-mouth hysteria. Usually, when record companies do this, they don't go chronologically. They usually go for the best-selling or most-lauded album first. It's entirely possible that we get a super deluxe edition Like A Prayer album before the next Prince super deluxe edition. The album will be 35 years-old next Spring. With that in mind, I'm hoping for alternate versions of Love Song. Knowing Prince, I'm certain he would have produced an extended version (and possibly more remixes) for a possible single release. I've already bought the Prince-heavy Like A Prayer Remixes e.p. in lossless. That dub version with the Bob George sample and Prince's guitar squealing is wild! The Like A Prayer album basically sounded like a really really really good Prince protégé project. Prince was all over this album like a purple rash.  If there's alternate versions of Love Song, Act Of Contrition, Keep It Together, or even more versions of the title track featuring Prince - I want them all!!! |

I would be all in for this. My favorite Madonna album. Just recently realized that the 7 inch version of Like A Prayer only has a few seconds of Prince shredding on the fade. Cool stuff. Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths...(Jeremiah 6:16) www.ancientfaithradio.com

and if you listen closely to Keep It Together...... it borrows the little Synth line in Erotic City... not the same intstrument and sound... but the notes are the same...

Act Of Contricion is such a fantastic throaway. What fun did she/they have making this. There probably is much more Prince involvement. I agree. I even wonder if they will release 'By Alien Means'.
