AN LP doesn't have room for additional material. These reissues are just that - reissued so everything is on vinyl for the sake of it. Just like his first few albums were reissued (and remastered) and put out the day he died. I can only imagine it'd have extra artwork inside or something.

It mentions that for Lovesexy, Prince 'rehashed' material from The Black Album and Crystal Ball... songs which are 'reissued' here - they mean 'reused' here, along with 'additional material'... by which I think they mean other songs that were newly written/recorded for Lovesexy... misleading description indeed...

On the german internet retailer jpc it says "Prince...published it here with additional material" (own translation from german) - it´s a description of "Lovesexy".

A good subsection of vinyl junkies do just that. Thoroughly clean the record, get a nice clean needledrop ripped to 24/96 FLAC and play that instead of wearing down the record with every play.

Most early CD releases of old records use copies of copies of aged, worn-out master tape copies, so LPs are preferred to get the original masters. OG Parliament and Funkadelic CDs are a good example. Some of those are basically dubbed cassettes on CD.

Honestly, Batman was always really really easy to find on vinyl - it was widely released on vinyl back in 89 and it shows up a lot in used record stores, Discogs etc. In that era, album releases tended to be very multi format, cassette, LP and CD. Same goes for GB and Lovesexy actually

And yeah For You was included in the Rhino vinyl remasters from a few years back, it sounds great.

ive no interest in these as i own the originals.

id only be interested in a batman re release if it comes on bat-shaped vinyl.

or in a metal cannister with the bat logo.

or if when you play it, it lights up and the bat signal shines onto the ceiling (maybe third man can get this one going)

or if lovesexy is on pink and white vinyl
