mia bocca - one of the all time great pop songs every time i listen to this i remain convinced it's one of the best things p ever wrote and what i wouldn't do for his vox version |

It's honestly incredible I think. It feels so deeply in that PR era vibe, it's a shame he didn't do something with that and G Spot himself. Same with Blue Limousine and Belle of St Mark. |

It's safe to say Jill's album is some of the strongest material he produced and then put it on a protege album. We know he had some affection for "Mia Bocca" and "All Day, All Night" since one was in Under The Cherry Moon and the other was in that birthday concert. Three years before either of them ended up on Jill's album. And even after that short passage of time, they still held their own.

It's funny the song we might initially dismiss - definitey a classic.
I was listening to With You, and while not an epic by Prince's later standards it's a beautifully well crafted and produced song - when you think he was very young and played all the instruments - simply amazing. |
