I think he picked Rock'N'Roll Is Alive because it was supposedly a response to Lenny Kravitz' Rock And Roll Is Dead, so he just wanted it out as quickly as possible and the Gold single was that opportunity. But really, it's an Emancipation song. I've included it on my Emancipation playlist. It fits well there. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

. Not to mention how amazing the NPG was on this one and the furious guitar solo in the end. My only ciriticism is the tons of keyboards there (probably courtesy of Ricky P).

. I'm glad he included "Shy", which is much more eclectic and creative than a song like "Days Of Wild". . Or one of my lest favorites:"Rippopgodazippa", which is such a lackluster, boring song.

Whatever. The Gold Experience is at the top of my personal list for Prince. Do I wish he added Days of Wild? Of course! But the way it exists is still an exceptional album IMO. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Opinions are like assholes, worth fighting for. I never liked the album. But this is just my opinion, nothing else than just another asshole. I would have enjoyed the Gold Experience more if the March 1994 configurations of Come and Gold had been released simultaneously like Prince proposed to WB, but nooooo.... They said, "No." FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

I love shy. But We March never appealed to me. I wonder - if I ever get to hear the original version - If I'll like that better. P. Control never really appealed to me either and I prefer the original version of Endorphinemachine to the overproduced version that made the album. But it was nice finally seeing the songs I did like released. But it was an album from The Vault and old news for the fans. If it had been released in 1994, the Gold album would have been huuuuge. I'm sure of it. [Edited 3/8/23 13:02pm] FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

The like & respect is mutual...and the desire to be anally impaled by a machete, is also mutual, everytime i see you bashing Art Official Age...because except for Gold Standard and FunkNRoll, that is a perfect album

I think "The pope" and My name is Prince are his worst rap song.
