Has anyone managed to figure out what the new song is? I'm presuming it's new. The drums and bass make me think it's from the Black Is The New Black sessions, and the "dig me now" reminds me of The Work Pt.1 from the Aladdin DVD ~ but his voice in the snippet sounds different to TRC/'02 era. I'm hoping it's from around the BITNB sessions. I also figured out the photo used in the teaser video is from 2009 ( https://twitter.com/Vault...9597513729 ) [Edited 1/29/23 14:05pm] eye dont think U heard me . . .

To me, this song could've been from damn near any period - even during the same sessions as When The Lights Go Down. Someone surely knows what the song is.

I like to think BITNB was either complete or near complete, which I think I heard Adrian or somebody else say on a podcast a few years back. PrinceVault (which I consider a reliable and well meaning source) says the last song recorded for it was the title track, plus Ruff Enuff was released as a "lead single" from it. And the album has a jam-like quality, which the snippet sounds like, along with the instrumental videos we'd get on Princestagram back in the day eye dont think U heard me . . .

I recall Michael Bland specifically mentioning how they'd go in, record tons of jams, and stuff would come back a fully produced song (Chaos and Disorder and 3121 being two songs that are examples of this). Would he have all of a sudden become more clear? Maybe. It's just not what he ever used to do. Even W&L said they had always thought the next record was Roadhouse Garden, and it never was. Prince liked to say things. People always believed him. But in the end, he only did what he did and that wasn't always clear. I guess I'm also skeptical because I don't like Ruff Enuff at all.

Can we add a "don't care" option? +e

Is there a chance any notable associates will be scheduled to perform (Jesse, Sheila, Andre, W&L) or are those days long gone?
