TOO MANY COMPLAINTS TO THE WRONG PEOPLE!!!

Please, nice folks, if you want to change their future inventory, just tell them how you feel about the current selection and what could be potentially more interesting to purchase as a true Prince fan!

Pretty simple, actually biggrin :

I emailed them suggesting that they sell more music. Got the impression that they're there for feedback on current items and have no influence or knowledge of upcoming products. They certainly can't get us more music.

This feedback goes to a customer service manager who files it away for whenever their higher ups care. That can be tomorrow or never.

Complaining to the store or to the PP IG etc is useless as the people looking at it are just regular joes clocking in. It's not Levi and Cat administering this shit.

Now, if you organized it in DROVES.... Other fandoms have indeed pushed for things to change or be changed. The possibility is there. But we don't even know who actually is in charge. Literally nobody here knows the status of any of it because literally nobody has said anything and the people who used to talk are no longer addressing it.

A Change.org petition? Those are pretty usually as well, but might generate some media attention?

Could be useful as it's a visual medium and dedicated to just that. Nobody's gonna care unless you cut out the noise and get right to the point. Change petitions are useful for that.

You think I haven't done this already a zillion times ? wink

Since the day it was 'up' and available.

Sure, here complaints are just for 'us' fans. The Estate don't give a shit what happens here.

The .org is nearly dead by the way. Always the same 20/25 people reacting or posting.

Most interesting people are gone, we all know why.

And the reason why i still come here is because i lost my wonderful Disord connection and can't get in anymore.

Another reason is that there still is 0,99 % hope left in me for some great news.

I think most here will agree with the latter.

But I don't check everyday anymore.

Even the non-related-Prince-music section/forum has more comments and news these days.

The only thing change.org petitions are good for is helping change.org collect email addresses for lists it can then compile and sell.

Change.org? It's like that thread in the General Discussion forum where TrivialPursuit was goofing on people still using Outlook Express and Hotmail.

The sentiment of this thread is absolutely correct, however. I'm not critiquing that, it's just we'd need a more contemporary means to get any tangible amount of traction.

Social media campaign, YouTube videos, a Twitter hashtag... something more modern.

There's a lot of Prince channels, maybe if they banded together. There's a decent amount of n00b Prince fans on places like reddit that seem more populated than here.. Unfortunately they seem so far off in the other direction where they're posting 1999 fan-art and debating Purple Rain singles that it's questionable whether they even care about The Vault at this stage in their journeys... prove me wrong, n00bs.

Either way, we'd need some kind of unity as "fams" to get some media attention, which is the only way shit gets done these days... and it's possible, he's definitely got some stans in professional media. Bryant Gumbel looked ready to cry when P performed at his goodbye Today Show 20 years ago.

Unfortunately unity is probably the #1 Prince fan achilles heel. Org acted like I was joking when I suggested we storm the Estate capitol on January 21st. Little playful hyperbole, sure, but something drastic (and unified) needs to happen.

Celebrity Prince stans include : Toure, Chris Rock, Regina Hall, Beyonce but she's very busy with her career right now.

all those petition sites exist for one reason onlyh: to capture your credentials and interests so they can sell it off to marketers.

No serious business pays attention to online petitions.

THE ESTATE ITSELF is in charge of products and music. But I've not found away to get through to them except via one person a bit down the chain who can only forward.

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

Don't forget ?uestlove. It literally takes one celeb (or person inside the Tonight Show studio) throwing a passing comment to ?uest during a Fallon taping to get something going.

Though it's debatable whether ?uest would really go for that jugular or play it safe out of hopes the estate hooks him up with some prereleases and maybe some comp'd PR PJs.

Which raises the main concern: Unity. Prince fans are like the high school cafeteria, everyone's got their own clique table. Right now the "elite trader" table is like "forget these miscreants, we need no one", the "elite celeb" table is "duuennno, don't wanna fumble the bag either way," the reddit n00b crowd are like "hey we care about The Vault, too, we just also want to know what the best single from Lovesexy to start with is or if you all think the whole album is worth a Spotify stream right out the gate," LSA's saying whatever, Org, etc.. And everyone's like man fuck those other tables...

We gotta agree on a common goal and bring it, all generations/tables.

You think Questlove is worth mentioning? Homeboy loves to humble (and not so humble) brag about the droves of unreleased music he has. And it would be no real surprise he would have advanced copies of all the SDEs that he'd tease at his DJ gigs.

Quest knows what it feels like for Prince's fans. He underscores his knowledge of that every time he mentions the vastness of his collection and how he attained it.

Questlove doesn't care about our plight.

Remember that he is in possesion of exclusive Prince material that we'll never get to see and has no problem bragging about it.

From what I've seen reddit is mostly people who are just getting into Prince's music so they're excited to discover the wonderful purple world, unlike the majority of orgers who have been Prince fans since the 80's. The priorities will be different. LSA are the Prince fans who care about his psyche, personal life etc...and how it ties into his art, and then there's the twitter crowd who seem to always want to fight with MJ stans.

Such a diverse crowd.

Per goglee search:::
"How much does it cost to hire Questlove?
$100,000 - $200,000
The estimated speaking fee range to book Questlove for your event is $100,000 - $200,000. Questlove generally travels from Philadelphia, PA, USA and can be booked for (private) corporate events, personal appearances, keynote speeches, or other performances."
No wonder we have no new releases!
That price is just for ONE SPIN of A FEW bootlegs (maybe, if your lucky).
I'm still waiting for that 'Camille' release from J. White! biggrin

Ha! I'll opt for the old Prince BBS's, that's where all the fun began before Pewr Nilsen and 'Uptown' mag showed up (and every inch of info was shared by the now recluse elite who sometimes pops up on Discord.) But I also miss to read a.m.p.

Everything will be monetized at some point, I just hope I'm around to hear it.

The Deliverance EP was a nice surprise (legal debates aside) . . . and, while not the greatest, was a nice reminder that there's stuff out there that no one has heard yet. Same with most of W2A (which I hadn't heard before).
