Kim Upsher I was not aware of her till I read the book "All songs explained".

According to Jill, Kim had a role in Purple Rain as the waitress. What I don't understand, is that she's not (if not mistaken) the one showed in the artcile who can be seen as well in Purple Rain.

Isn't that the same girl who gives Morris grief about "who's paying for this, Morris?" " ![]()

To be honest: I don't think so. That was my question. "Money don't bring happiness but it pays for the search."

Dumpster girl is listed in the credits (as something similar to Dumpster girl).

We aint talking about the dumpster girl, Homie ...we're talking about the scene in the club, where Morris is sitting with Apollonia ordering drinks, and he tells Jerome, "go get my change"...the woman that took Morris order and asked "whos paying for this?" is Kim Upsher

But it's clear Morris is black man and she's white. We're not just talking skin tone.

The waitress who served morris in the club is clearly black, her skin is brown, what are you on about ? you may need glasses.

This thread is like the 2023 version of the “What’s the password” scene from the movie.

Obviously if you read the thread, I confused the two and RJ corrected me. No harm no foil no confusion. It's your girl tryna act like she's never seen a light skinned black person who couldn't imagine how I confused the Dumpster girl ("clearly white") and Kim Upsher AND HAD THE NERVE to edit her post to say it doesn't have to do with skin tone when she's the one who brought skin tone up!!!!! I wasn't confused about skin tone. I was confused about who was being referred to, forget what they look like.

Once again, the waitress ain't that woman (above picture: since 85' when I saw the first time "Purple Rain", she reminded me of Michael Jackson, a kind of resemblance.) seen during "Computer blue". "Money don't bring happiness but it pays for the search."
