Cinnamon Girl had b-sides Dear Mr. man (live from Webster's Hall) and United States of Division
Also SST single (after hurricane Katrina with proceeds from the recording went to hurricane relief) also with the instrumental b-side Brand New Orleans.
Other than that I believe there were just a couple NPGMC singles like Glass cutter, Silver Tongue (w/ lyrics by Nikka Costa) and a couple other live tracks recorded during that era. [Edited 1/19/23 14:43pm]

Never heard of any of these. It is curious though. There was heaps of previously unreleased 80s songs released through the Deluxe Editions over the last few years. And, I presume, there's still loads of stuff missing from the 80s. But, to my knowledge, there doesn't seem to be that many outtakes leaked from the later years. Was he just not recording as much or was his security just better during this period? |

A slow decline since then as security increased and fewer people had access. That said, at least some people had keys to the actual kingdom and have copies of literally everything. Not an exaggeration. |

"Love (acoustic)"
"C&D Live"
Also, "Te Amo Corazòn/Fury (live at the Brits)"
.
P.S.
Tàmar's 'Milk & Honey' album was officially released in Asia, albeit for a very short quicky.

I'm very curious about his recording schedule in the 2000's because in the 80's it was insane ! |

I'm very curious about his recording schedule in the 2000's because in the 80's it was insane ! He started mentioning going to "recording rehab" when he got married to Mayte. He mentioned it a few more times before he died, notably on the George Lopez show around 2010. I believe him when he said these things now, though I was skeptical at the time. I believe that his recorded studio output was way, way less than ever before. I think you can also sort of tell this especially in the material he was releasing from 2010 on. This seemed like bucket list project stuff when it wasn't by the numbers polished funknroll. |

Likely a combination of a slightly less hectic recording schedule (still untold unreleased music from these eras) and better security at Paisley Park.
.
I'm sure I read somewhere that he didn't hand out tapes/CDs so much in the later years.
.
I used to think The United States of Division was the worst song he had recorded and released (at the time it was reported that Wendy was involved, but I'm not sure that was ever confirmed), but it's grown on me a bit over the years. Silver Tongue is beautiful without being amazing (the story behind its creation is better - Costa sent Prince a poem, which he then turned into a song). GlassCutter is good fun. |

Glasscutter is more than just good fun, it's pretty freakin' amazing. The guitar on this song is fire.

Agreed. Of the three songs I listed, I think it's by far the best.

- It´s one of the best moments of Prince as a multi-instrumentalist, IMO. He played some amazing guitar solos, cool keys and classy drumming in the middle. I would love to see it released officially and remastered.

They were all released officially through the NPG Music Club, specifically the "Musicology store" era of the website.
Combination of better security and less interest probably. In 00s fans here were still thirsting over 80s outtakes.

yeah, the initial release was in poor quality and didn't sound very good or detailed, not even with headphones.
but the later release (was it for sale on Tidal or through the NPG Music club or something?) has a much cleaner and better sound to it, especially with headphones it sounds amazing.
that song is wild. i love how it ends with sighs and heavy breathing, as if he's just, you know

It's a shame Prince didn't put GlassCutter on any album. I think it would fit well on 3121 instead of Fury. [Edited 1/21/23 17:24pm]Welcome 2 The Dawn |

Way better than Glasscutter. I can see why he wouldn't place it on an album - outside of the guitar work, it's an underwhelming song with corny lyrics and a weak vocal arrangement. |

The lyrics are actually quite funny now we now the inspiration. His ex assistant said he over-heard her on the phone to a friend saying her nips were so cold in MPLS they could cut glass. Next thing she hears this song…. What a guy [Edited 1/22/23 13:38pm] |

I agree. As a song, Fury is a lot better. But I would put Glass Cutter instead of Incense and Candles or Life O The Party easily. At least, we would appreciate the guitar solos. [Edited 1/22/23 13:30pm] |

I mostly dislike Life O The Party, but I like the section in the middle where it changes into a totally different song for about a minute.

I just put it on to see what you were saying (it's one of the least played songs for me, of all time) and yeah you're right. I wish he'd done the rest of the song this way. It's like he just put a clip of a better song randomly in there. |

"Glasscutter" is way better than "Fury" studio version. I'm convinced the org just has Pavlovian reaction to mentions of "Fury" based on the ferocious SNL live versions that debuted prior to the formal album cut. The album version is like watching paint dry. |

- Not in my case. Yes, the SNL version is a lot better, but Fury has a nice chord progression that reminds me of some Bob Dylan, and a melody. Glasscutter is basically a rap over an ok groove, the kind of song that Prince probably wrote in 10 mins. I only love it because Prince did two killer guitar solos and plays really well as an one man band there. Some classy keys and drums. |

dodododododdodo--dodododododdo--dodododododo--doooooo
Virtual B-sides, yo. "United States of Division" was the virtual B-Side to "Cinnamon Girl" and "Glasscutter" was a Cyber-Single, actually. These tracks were released officially in his lifetime, in 2004 and 2005 respectively.
I doubt they were outtakes to any Musicology/3121 session anyway, they're nothing like those records. Even his 80s B-Sides were usually stuff recorded around the albums rather than being outtakes from the album sessions themselves. |

The keyboard progression or whatever you call it in "Fury" is literally that 80s "1999" keyboard figure he used to use a lot brought back from the dead, also recycled like five tracks earlier in "Lolita".
"Glasscutter" might've taken 10 minutes but no way "Fury" took more than 8 or 9. |
