Why isn't Prince played more on the radio outside of the US ? This is an observation as someone who travels a lot. He has many radio friendly songs but even old school channels don't play him as much as Mariah, Madonna or MJ. I thought after 2016 it would change but nope.

Prince gets played a reasonable amount on Radio 6 in the UK. Often hear Prince music in bars/restaurants too. Weirdly heard the Piano & Mic 83 version of 17 Days in a chain restaurant the other week. Hundalasiliah!

I haven't been to the UK but I figured he'd get played a lot there because the Prince UK fanbase is quite strong, same with the French and Japanese.

6 music play raspbery beret quite often. ive not heard much else of his on there though. i think mary ane hobbs is a fan as she sometimes plays his songs. she runs a weekly segment called housequake too which is songs (apparently) fitting that kind of idea, though its a bit of a loose thing really. but what radio station would prince get played on? radio 2 sometimes (ie older music for middle aged people) 6 music (eclectic stuff but generally to the taste of semi hip 30/40 somethings) 1xtra wouldnt really fit (i did hear when doves cry on there once though)

I very rarely listen to the radio now here in the UK, but one of the last times I did, it came on when I started the car (I guess my GF must've left it on...) and TMBGITW was playing. And that was before the lawsuit was resolved, so I'm not sure exactly what the legal situation was then in terms of playing it, but it was a cool surprise anyway.

can confirm that. If you turn on your favourite radio station (with music from the 80ies / "oldies radio") long enough on a daily basis, there will be "Manic Monday" Each and every day. 100% guaranteed. It seems, as if his legacy is fading away ...

I wouldn't say that as he didn't get much airplay in the last 10 yrs before he passed. His legacy just IS.
Neither boosted nor fading away.

Prince is still very much everywhere, even if his music isn't played all the time. I see him everywhere, from sports to films. "Whatever skin we're in
