No way around it. "Pussy Control" is cringey AF. The pussy eating sounds in "Come" are not easy either.

And he could have a weird sense of humour at times like talking about his mother sending him the shop for tampons

He said that ??? which interview ?

On the Indigo Nights CD, during Delirious

I like that song, but it sounds just like, and dare I say better than, "Shake." It also has remnants of "Cream" in it.

Because it expired at some point? Or is it that 49 year olds typically just don't have a sense of humor in general?

What I meant is that he went through a little uptight phase when he was deep into the JW's.

Well yeah, and before that he was uptight during the prince years. The problem in the hardcore JW years was he still thought he was funny, or was in on some inside joke or piece of truth that no one else knew. lol

I agree they're both cringe, but I enjoy No More Candy. I can't listen to Everybody Loves Me.

Speaking of 20Ten, I think Compassion is also cringe. It sounds like the theme to a 1980s game show. I can picture the audience's fake enthusiam and the cheesy host while terrible graphics overly the screen and you hear: "Compassion! Bump buh-duh-dum! Comassion!"

Compassion definitely has a place in this thread, as most of the 20Ten album imho

I can't figure out if I like 20Ten or not. Some of the weird synths throw me off, yet other songs are catchy. I initially hated "Laydown," but like it now. At the time, I actually put "Cause and Effect" before "Compassion" and inserted "Hot Summer" somewhere near the end.

Felt more rounded that way.

Listening to Welcome 2 America, some of those tracks really sound like 20Ten outtakes since they were recorded at the same time for the most part. So, I guess now it sounds like Welcome 2 America is a little disjointed or something. Perspective.

But yeah, chanting "Compassion" or whatever is as stupid as chanting "theocratic order!"

I thing Cause and Effect is as fun as anything, and similarly I really like Compassion.

This is on my mind because i have played the wonderful mashup of those two songs 3 times in the last 24 hours. It is seared in my brain!

The tempo, music, and chants in Cause and Effect is what he had hoped for in Purple and Gold and fell flat. I could see a football really getting into Cause and Effect with appropiate lyrics.

This would be my choice. The hook is cringe but Prince captured that west coast bounce and rode the beat like a boss. Easily one one his better rap performances.

Here’s 2 more, Black Album.

Cindy C: calling a person out like that, supermodel then or not, and effectively calling her a hooker (“I’ll pay the usual fee”) or at least suggesting that, even though he talks about taking fotos with a camera in verse 1, but then it’s so much fun(nk) and delivered with that hilarious over the top-desperation at the end, proudly cringe deluxe if you will but always gets me.

Dead on it: I always found that rap diss quite lame, tired and cringe, but what a funky track this is!

LOL or not? Cindy Crawford is a model, and she ain't even gettin' out of bed for less than $10,000 for a walk. Who's to say Prince is treating her like a prostitute?

Nah, not treating her like a prostitute, but it ultimately depends on what “play with me” might imply in conjunction with “the usual fee”, I think it was left open very deliberately

I would agree it's actually a big ambiguous.

The entire song is ambiguous and hilarious, more so he would even pay the fee and serving her wine, and gives his everything but … seems to fail at the end. Seduction song gone wrong in a funny way

The whole Rainbow Children album. I LOVE that album, but that's probably largely helped by the fact that I pay zero attention to the lyrics.

Life Can Be So Nice is one of my favorite songs from Parade. I usually crank it when it comes on. Never would think of that song as cringy.

I think cringy I think of Graffiti Bridge the song, a lot of songs from Rainbow Children (the JW lyrics), Everyday is a Winding Road, and the end of Do Me Baby.

That voice, the pro-PETA lyrics about a diet he didn't stick with for very long.
He downed milkshakes, had a freezer full of ice cream, caramel candy, cheese, ate eggs every morning and also fish fish fish fish.

Burn it.

The question for this thread is songs that are cringe, but you like them anyway. In other words, song you enjoy in private but would never listen to when friends are around. Based on what you wrote, I take it you don't like Animal Kingdom... so it doesn't really fit.

I think Animal Kingdom is super cringy and have never listened to it after my first time hearing it.
