Suppose how you think Prince warms up his voice Where there any interviews where he or his associates ever explain how Prince warms up his voice before he sings? There are some singers who have rituals such as never having the ac turned on in the tour bus because they don't want to ruin their voice. Other times they rest their voice throughout the day and eat certain meals that wouldn't alter their voice. Some singers have vocal coaches to help them warm up their voice before they go on a session. This was a question that I've always wanted to know because Prince has such a beautiful voice. If you really listen, it's smooth and he has great control. There aren't many male singers like that today, especially at the age he was before he passed away. His voice never changed. He could always hit those high notes.

Good question, I've never seen or heard anything on the subject either. Prince in general seemed to approach his music in a spontaneous way - maybe it was similarwith his voice - if he got on stage and it left him he just played guitar instead ? [Edited 12/4/22 16:46pm] [Edited 12/4/22 16:47pm] |

He was from outer space, a super natural, he never needed to warm his voice. Nah, of course he probably had his ways. He drank tea... he never smoked, no alcohol, had a sweet tooth (?), plus he had a strong voice. He basically barely failed whenever he performed or recorded. Though I remeber one live recording; some bootleg where you can hear he has a cold or something, and his voice is 'darker', more sand-paper-ish. Yes because on all of the bootlegs you hear, his voice is perfect. I remember watching Michael Jackson's vocal coach Seth Riggs warming up Michael's voice on YouTube. That was amazing within itself. So it made me wonder if Prince had a vocal coach or was he natural. |

I read somewhere that Prince had a vocal coach, it might have been Seth Riggs. |

Prince used Speech Level Singing. He studied with Seth Riggs. You can Google the method to learn more. |
