Uh, no. Is this a joke? No one can "be" Prince. He's too distinctive in size, shape and looks. This guy is over-developed, soft and just wrong.
Take away the "trying too hard hair" and this is what you see: https://www.behance.net/g...r_projects
A biopic shouldn't show Prince; it should show everything from his perspective.

Who needs a biopic when you have Purple Rain starring the man himself ?
You know a movie would only cover this time period. [Edited 1/5/23 10:08am] |

That's a good point.
Plus, Prince fans are very picky. I'm sure they'll dislike any biopic.
The only real plus I see from making one is to get new people interested in Prince, expanding his fan base and helping keep his legacy alive. But I'm certain that will have a cost. No biopic is entirely accurate or faithful, taking plenty of dramatic liberties.

His falsetto at times sounds a lot like Prince. He’s an instrumentalist. And he has a deep speaking voice similar to him. He just seems heavily influenced to me and sounds really good. |

Cool. But does he exude energy? I think that crucial in projecting the correct vibe. Too much laid back, chillin' energy from the star would be a disaster of a project. Can't fake the funk as they say. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

That's what the netflix documentary is supposed to achieve. |

It's also about exuding energy in a specific way. Prince had a quiet energy about him. He could take control of a room with just the expression on his face and no words even spoken.
His eyes were so damn expressive. He could communicate so powerfully with him. With a mere glance, he could make you feel great or shut you down. How can an actor capture that?

I don't know I mean if the actor is worth his salt and you tell him to do that then he'll do it. |

I agree. Right now I want someone with a Jacob Anderson commitment at this point. I want to be sold. No I'm not saying Jacob should be it but that quality to their acting. If that makes any sense at all. Austin Butler gave Elvis energy. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

loosely even Prince said so to Larry King. The dynamics between the band and even that rivalry between him and Morris. The situation with his family where he tells Oprah that the scene between his mother and father was the most autobiographical. |

But unfortunately, I expect the any bio pic to focus on that brief period of his life. There’s an assumption that casual fans and non fans are interested in that period exclusively. Sad, but that’s the way the execs see it. |

Very loosely. Rewritten by Magnoli. Prince would say *anything* in an interview to avoid talking about the present.

Are any biopics really any good - Maybe Ray? The Tina Turner one was great. TBH I haven't seen many as I dislike this sort of thing in general. They'd have to use Prince's oriignal recordings at least to pull it off! also an amazing enigmatic actor who looks, talks and dances like him! [Edited 1/8/23 9:34am] |

No, no and no.
And he's using a microphone in this cheesy "interview" to get attention to his voice (which is the only thing remotely like Prince on him), to get the part. Please don't. |
