When Prince got a little older, did he ever talk about the worst kinds of pains?

I remember things like him mentioning a baby dying in Others here with us. But Prince eventually had some real life experience that everyone could see tempered him. He lost his parents, he lost a baby, he experienced divorce twice. He experienced physical pain to the point he was willing to get relief however he could. There was probably things we’ll never know like maybe fear over a major dental thing, or did he ever panic because of a stalker? Idk he didn’t seem to spook easy if he was staying @ Paisley Park alone. He lived long enough im sure he dealt with a personal conflict that maybe brought him to tears or kept him up all night.

I don’t remember Prince talking about this kinda stuff. I think I’ve read associated people say Prince wouldn’t allow negativity. Or it’s easy when you can simply fire & replace people when they clash with you. But I’m thinking maybe those last 7 or so years the man probably had dad advice coming from a place of experience. Anyone aware of little slips of that coming out over the years?

As he got older it appears as if he kept it lighthearted as to not burden others, I believe that's why he associated with the andys, judiths, they kept him "young".

He got more grounded as he got older. He even gravitated to more earthy tones in his fashion. It's probably in the lyrics. Usually when someone is that focused on the after life, salvation, and similar themes, it's coming from a place of hope but also pain. It's different from his music about love.

He only gave a hand full of interviews where he let his guard down and really talked publicly. He apparently viewed certain displays of vulnerability as bad showmanship or personal. He just used the bike to get to the stage, he didn't have a publicist put out a release explaining it. We'll never know Prince the man versus Prince the persona and mystique but we also don't really need to hear Prince talk about pain to know it was present in his life. He was a sensitive artist, and human.

If you read ALL the books by associates, you can put it all together.

There are a few more by people really close to him that may be helpful in understanding, as will the Netflix doc in 2023.

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.
