Prince cover--About That Walk

I do love to discover Prince song covers and am thrilled when I find one I like! Mel Monaco, a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter from Ontario, Canada who wields a broad repertoire of sound does a spot-on cover of "About That Walk" from the Warner Bros. album The Vault.

Gentelmen & ladies, this woman attracts a camera lens and she's keen to engage a bit of choreography in her act--she does so in this video performance done in 2018.

I was going to keep this discovery to myself, but here goes,

Actually, I ain't mad at it. They stayed very true to the original, didn't try to fuck it up so much or "re-imagine" it like others have done.

I can appreciate them working out some steps since there is so much non-singing moments in it.

The percussionist looked bored as hell, or slightly lost. lol

Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy seeing interpretations of Prince's work. There's plenty out there but always looking for more.

I actually listen to this album of Prince's more than most--it's calming and sweet--helps me fall asleep nights when I'm having trouble.

I miss you my friend --jj, me, and many others

I really like when real musicians cover Prince. Specially when they choose non-obvious songs.
I wish there was a way of being always updated about them

Three things:

-a cutie sings those lyrics

-those three sets o' hips swingin' on the right rhythmical spots

-no bras

P.S.

The band was great, too lol

I made me rediscover that this song actually is a nice song.
