4/21/22 What r u doing to celebrate Prince?

I am playing non-stop P in the office (currently 1999 deluxe ed) and wearing my Act 2 tour shirt (the one where he's holding the gun mic to his chin) to celebrate the man who we lost 6 years ago today.

What r u doing?

Be (was) a little melancholy, and go on with my day.

I hadn't planned to do anything, preferring to reserve celebrations of Prince for positive anniversaries.

.

But I did end up watching the Blu-ray from Welcome 2 America for the first time. I just got the deluxe now that the price has dropped so much on Amazon. Well, I didn't get to watch the whole thing yet, just the first 40 minutes or so, because I had to go back to work.

I’ve been informed that my opinion is worth less than those expressed by others here.

I feel you regarding celebrating for positive reasons, but for me the day he was gone from this world is positive because his pain was gone and his legacy cemented forever. It is a sad day for sure, but I like to remember him on this day.

Seems like this was the first year there were no articles or fuss around this day. For me though, 4/21 will always be special to me.

I turned 04/21 into a "Prince Week" as far a my listening goes while at work. The first day was spent listening to various "Blast From The Past" collections. The next day was listening to all of the official "Prince Podcasts" on Spotify. Yesterday was the Foefur Remasters of Around The World In A Day, 1999, Lovesexy, Parade, Controversy, Dirty Mind and Purple Rain Today wrapped up with listening to the Vaut Discs from the Purple Rain, 1999 and Sign 'O' The Times. All the while I was either sporting a Prince T-Shirt or wearing one of my Symbol baseball caps.

Though he is no longer with us physically, he'll always be with us musically and that kept me going all week.

I don't see why we should celebrate the day he died but I have already made plans for June 7
I plan on watching both the syracuse concert on bluray and the "Slave Trade" documentary.Have had the latter for years now and haven't yet watched it.

I spent some hours in the middle of the night (around 1-4AM) listening to Prince with earphones on my bed and no distractions. Including one of my fave ´earphone albums´: Hit N Run Phase Two. The production / arrangements are great.

I know I'm late an all but, I always take the entire month of April and June to celebrate my man P. I usually listen to Purple Current for the Prince Hour between 1 and 2 EST and then there's a new station I was told about out of France called The Purple Radio.

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...
