Sorry if this has been covered recently in another thread...

As you all probably know, The Most Beautiful Girl in the World and The Gold Experience have been missing from streaming services and reissue schedules due to a plagiarism ruling in Italy. Now they're available for streaming and the album is being re-released - but I haven't been able to find anything about what exactly happened.

Does anybody have any information about whether there's been some kind of settlement - or if the estate has just decided to release the track again and pay the Italians royalties?

Prince was barred from distributing the song in Italy in 2015. I can't find any information on why it was removed from any other countries, though. Perhaps they were waiting for the lawsuit to conclude, and then Prince died and it got added to the long list of "things to figure out".

Thanks, but is there anything in these documents about why the song has been made available again now? And if so, is there any way to find the needle in the haystack without having to go through everyone single document?

Well, yes there actually is. The last lawsuit has been settled and that is why the song is in circulation again. And sorry, but there's no easy way to find that info unless someone saved it. I saw it but don't recall where in the documents. I think it was around this time last year, but I am not certain of that.
