I was listening to St. Paul do a Cameo and he was playing singing this and just playing the chords on piano and it was just like 2 chords. I Listened to Prince 1984 rehearsal and it was the same.

I think the main chord is a F Maj9 (basically a C major Triad over an F bass note).

But ther's like a "passing chord" he shifts to sometimes on the 4 before resolving back to the Fmaj9.

I can't quite figure it out. Anyone know? I think it's like Dmin/C maybe?

OMG I forgot the Paul sent me the chords to this a few years ago!!! I just found them.

It's Fmaj9 to Bb/C. Those are the 2 main chords.
