I love "You're My Love" I was never really a fan of the Kenny Rogers's version but Prince's version off The Originals album is so good! I love his vocals on it. He sings it almost like an old school lounge singer.I could see this song on For You. Was it written specifically for Kenny Rogers? I'm a fan of his too but he didn't really bring it with this song. | |

I've always loved Kenny's version. I remember having that record when it came out. Prince's take is wonderful, but the last 60 seconds or so is not great. His wandering vocals sounds like he's just messing around or something. "  don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r." |

I love it too. It's easy to sing to and I like his delivery. Reminds me of his controversy period. | |

Could have been a hit in the 80's, a la Lionel Richie. Incredible he was able to give away songs like that. |

I just love 'My Love'. She knows who she is. Maybe. I'm. Just. Kidding. Jealousy will get you nowhere protege. The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days... | |

Before Prince's version came out, this was one of the things I really wanted to hear. I really liked Kenny Rogers' version, and I expected to like Prince's. I did, and yeah, it would have fit well during that early period.
