the swirl design just looks weird.

or is it that they are photographed in plastic sleeves?

there has to be other ways to reissue these albums.

purple with white dots vinyl would have been nice.

They look warped... But I assume they are fine. But I always heard colored vinyl didn't sound very good. But I guess it's been awhile maybe they may better vinyl?

Not complaining, but I wish they’d announce a new release at some point - even if it’s months away. Something ‘new’ to look forward to….

There are so many pointless purple vinyl releases but this one comes in clear vinyl? I´d have preferred purple vinyl for this release.

.

Why do you lot find it so hard to comprehend that this is caused by Sony/Legacy finally getting their hands on a part of the catalog that actually sells significant amounts of copies and now cashing in on that?

Lol oh no....you're expected to be up on all the Prince knowledge. How dare you come on here without having done the same amount of Prince research work that a select few seem to do all day long?

So, vinyl reissues of a bunch of 80s albums that you can easily find loads of fine second hand copies of, but the two 90s albums that really need a vinyl (re)issue are CD only?

This makes no sense. Not from a fan perspective, nor from a record label profit perspective.

many wealthy people have the same thing in common... they spend wisely. For many of us it is not a matter of do we have the money, or even can we afford it and more of do we need it and will it server a function that justifies the spending. Or can we better use that money elsewhere.

I think i have bought at least 7 copies of 1999 and 5 of SotT... I am not too keen on spending another $30 each to get yet another copy. The gimmick of it being clear with white swirls is just not that interesting. In fact I wonder if they had some issues with the pressing and could not get them to be true clear...

your post (and the one in the SOTT topic and the one you made in adition to these) seems to add nothing of merit to the discussion. I am not all that likely to buy either one BUT I am intresting in them being sold. I want the estate to sell out! But I am also thinking they will not need my help this time.

But this is what EVERY artist is doing with vinyl now. I mean that Paul McCartney III album is in every color possible now splatter vinyl and Im sure next year will be vinyl made from pauls hair. This is what is being done now, I know we feel they are "gauging the fans" BUT people, who is actually buying physical shit now? LOYAL FANS, so pick and choose or dont buy it at all, no one is forcing you too. I mean right after I got the Sign o The times cd/dvd deluxe a few weeks or so Sign O THe times came out on a peach pressing of vinyl just the standard record so I bought that. I mean pick and choose, I never buy these VINYL BOX issues that have outtakes because I know I never am going to pull it a box of vinyl to listen to a cassette recording of Feel U Up or whatever the outtake may be, for that I deal with the CD sets, these giant reissues usually have a long time between the announcement of them till the release so all i can say is budget it out, or just wait till you can get it.

Is not buying a colored vinyl of an album you already a symptom of being poor, or a sign of not valuing possessions to the point where one feels like they need to feel better than others online via virtual boasting they are not poor?
