I still think that some of the best quality stuff was originated by free labels like FBG and 4dafunk. I admit, I like the stuff that the "paid labels" do too, and I like a lot of PGA titles. I'm not one of the "never pay for bootlegs" crowd, I am far too hungry for new material to be that principled lol lol but I am most impressed by perfect or near perfect quality free stuff that a superfan has made available, like "Box of Chocolates"

LOL, no. Repackaging of other people's work. Foefur remasters etc.

'sound quality' is very vague and subjective.

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Most live boots sound like they were recorded in an underwater cave. It's truly awful and Prince would have been justified in hating that particular aspect of piracy. Nothing subjective about it, unless ya got cotton buds in your ears.

The difference in sound between quality MP3, and CD or blu-ray is indiscernible. Unsighted, nobody passes any of the AB tests. Whereas, the difference in sound quality between something well recorded and say, a phone recorded concert barf
is like difference between being on cloud 9 and 6 feet under.

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

I've never liked audience recordings. Usually, the minute I hear that it's an audience recording, I just delete it. Life's too short.

There's one actual audience recording CD boot I have (not download) that I keep for nostalgic reasons. Le Bataclan.

Hi Fan.

When I started updating my collection of bootlegs a couple of years back, I really liked these releases. I liked how they were packaged, they looked very collectable, and the sound quality was brilliant for the most part. Then as I dug deeper I did discover for myself that PGA do indeed just repackage what is already in circulation.

I can’t speak for the live releases as my knowledge of circulating live recordings isn’t great. But as for the studio releases…

PGA006: Can I Play With U - The Flesh Sessions – Sourced from ‘Can I Play With U’ (Sabotage 479-482) [May 2017]
PGA007: Y'all Want Some More - The Flesh Sessions Extra – Sourced from ‘Can I Play With U’ (Sabotage 479-482) [May 2017]
PGA018: Graffiti Bridge Collector's Edition – Sourced from Foefur’s Remastered Rough Mix & 30 Years of Unreleased Funk (Pure Funk) [2007]
PGA019: Diamonds And Pearls Collector's Edition – Sourced from Foefur’s Remaster & Diamonds & Pearls Beginnings (Free Boot Generation) [2015]
PGA023: Lovesexy Collector's Edition – Sourced from Foefur’s Remaster & S3xy B3g1nn1ngs (Eye No) [2018]
PGA025: Camille Collector's Edition – Claimed to be sourced from a test pressing. It was actually a fake that began circulating in 2016.
PGA032: Come Collector's Edition – CD2 was sourced from an already circulating test pressing
PGA042: NPG Exodus Original Configurations - CD1 sourced from The Exodus Has Begun (Digital Funk Bitch #020) [2011] & CD2 seems to be compiled from Work It 2.0 (Get Blue) [2006] (There was an audio skip in Superhero that appears on ‘Work It’ which I hadn't heard on any previous bootleg. It appears on this PGA release.)

PGA044: Unheard – Sourced from Demos and Outtakes Volume 1&2 (Purple Mushroom Audio)
PGA045: The Dawn – Sourced from a fan made compilation by BorisFishpaw
PGA046: 1986 A Year In The Studio (First Season)
PGA047: 1986 A Year In The Studio (Second Season)
This compilation was originally made by a fan named ‘Mace2TheO’, however shortly after it began circulating, Blast From The Past 4.0 was released by Eye [2017]. It contained better quality versions of many of the same songs. PGA appear to have recreated Mace’s tracklist using the Blast 4 versions.

Many of the other remastered studio albums are indeed the Foefur remasters.
