A 'Frankenstein Mix' that you would be on board with?...

Ok, ideally we don't want tracks from the vault to be fucked with. Just leave em as is as Prince left them.

BUT.... if you had access to the multitracks some how and there's an unreleased track or posthumous released-track that you LOVE but would just love even more with a different mix, would you do it? And which track would it be?...

For me, i would not mind a Frankenstein mix of the demo version of "Forever In My Life"

i absolutely love every part of it and the guitars, etc... but when he goes "La da da da da da da da".... i always wish it was the laid back background vocals that we hear on the official studio track..

small things like that make me wish for Frankenstein mixes/tweaks

If we could mix them ourselves to create our own unique mixes as some sort of special interactive fan project then yes. Otherwise, no.

I`m not sure if this is a frankenstien mix per se, but I would love it if Mono Neon, Adrian and Kurt could finish off some of the stuff that they were working on with Prince 2015-2016. Evenif it was just Black is the new black the song.

I would also love it if we could carefully colorize the Contraversy show from the Capitol centre.

This is a great question...

The first song that springs to mind is Crucial. I'd love to make several mixes where I re-introduce Eric Leeds saxophone parts and experiment with that. I'd keep the original lyrics and the louder, vibrant drums from the '98 release. I'd keep Eric's sax solo but I'd experiment a little with Prince guitar part and Clair Fischers orchestra to see if any of it compliments the sax.

Another one I would love to work on would be Crystal Ball. My version of choice is the unedited version prior to the inclusion of the orchestra, as I feel as if the string take away from the raw funk. Also, there are parts I really like that were edited out of the final version (Susannah's 'Elderly couple in the park' lines, the full drum solo). I'd be keen to make a full length version with the inclusion of some orchestra parts (such as over the intro), but have muted over other parts.

About a month ago I mixed some poetry readings over 'Coincidence or Fate' from Kamasutra, but what I really wanted to do was to mix them over the strings from Cosmic Day (similar to Ingrid's 'Cross the Line' part from the Lovesexy intermission), so I would love the hear / have the Orchestra parts for both Crystal Ball and Cosmic Day in isolation.

Desire. It would be great to hear Prince's vocal over the finished album mix.

Sexual Suicide. Would be great to hear the finished mix with Prince's alternative vocal.

Agree with all your choices there. Crucial is defo one I would like to hear guitar and sax play off against each other/overlap - I would usually choose Prince's guitar over a sax solo, but this one really kicks ass and takes it stratospheric!

Whatever it takes to get all the unreleased protegee material, especially Vanity 6 and Apollonia 6.

Edit: I would Frankenstein a mix of 17 Days to make it less of a duet and more of a Brenda solo effort!

I love the idea of 17 Days - Extended, and do enjoy listening to it from time to time, but the lyrics at the end detract from the original to me.

The original is a little more innocent, the Extended one adds lyrics at the end that don't fit. Kind of like I Wish U Heaven or even the unreleased Purple Rain extra verse. He was right to not release it.

Not exactly what you're asking for, but ediing out the rape lyrics so they can release some damn good songs. (I'd say release the songs as is, but since they're not doing that...)

"Old Friends 4 Sale" and "All My Dreams" needs to be put back together.

I would like to hear a mix of both "Forever In My Life" versions, as mentioned above.

I'd be fine with editing out the "rape" word, if that's such a big deal in a pop song from a different time, if we got the full track in general.

Brenda deserves more attention here.

The songs she sings on are also very good Prince & Lisa penned tracks, like :

''Some Kind Of Lover'', ''A Million Miles (I Love You)''...

Absolutely great songs.

Would love to hear Prince's versions of 'm too.

Or...That could happen, and you wouldn't be obliged to listen to it.
I always thought about a mashup between Speed Demon amd SOTT.
A mashup a la Purple Medley between Prince amd MJ would be great, if done good.

But you gotta admit - leave it to Prince to throw something in there totally out of left field! Only he could get away with it… lol
