It may just be the excitement of hearing something from the classic era that's gone unearthed for so long, but I can't get over how joyous Evolsidog is! Being a track recorded in the heat of the Parade sessions and it not making the LP, or even a B-side, I wasn't expecting anything as funky as this. It's just like when I heard Vavoom for the first time. I sincerely hope the estate plans on releasing the full 8 minute version as I want to blast it from the rooftops! biggrin biggrin biggrin

I really hope they release Go on the UTCM deluxe, hoh my gohd I'm obsessed

Some weeks ago someone mentioned an abadonned project that this was on (also The Dance Electric and All Day All Night) so it would be cool oif the Estate could locate this project and release that instead of putting those tracks on SDE's.

Interesting. Would be lovely, yet I would be heartbroken. I can imagine that would take beyond years to reach the public.

If they found it they could get it mastered and pressed on disc in no time.
The only thing I'm worried about is is that the person who knows about (and has) this project said The Dance Electric is on it in edited form and not the full 12 minute version and that the 12 minute version could have been left off form a 12" release.

Was this mentioned on the Org? Do you remember which thread?

No, this guy left the org some time ago and he's back at his own place now with some others and every once in a while some of the info he shares at his place gets shared to us regular fans.

Just even this snippet makes me sooooo happy. smile

Was not expecting this kind of song at al!

ALso heard and saw the alternatve intro to the movie UTCM.

Nice to hear the background music, some short pieces with Eric Leeds on sax.

Damn it would be nice to get our hands on that PARADE SDE...

"Estate ?! Can U hear us for fuck's sake ?"

Honeslty, thàt super deluxe edition with the worldly superhit ''Kiss'' could have such an impact on the non-Prince-fan-based audience, i'm absolutely sure about that.

Just release thàt asap.

Interesting that on the Sometimes It Snows Take 1, the piano took more of the lead than the released version.

This sounds very interesting. I wonder why It wasn't mentioned in the Duane Tudahl book.

Did they say what the full track list was?

Parade SDE Not before 2023!

Why do you guys keep saying that?

That's D&P scheduled for 2022.
Still not announced amd nothing from the boxset has leaked, so it's not gonna be released until at least April.

There would be no time for another SDE in 2022.

Not to mention the global backlog involving vinyl pressing was already rumoured to be why D&P had to be pushed to 2022, so another SDE would be probably impossible.

What's so bad about posting a link to a snippet? This place can be so uptight sometimes. Not like it's an actual boot.

Anyway. It's cool and funky. Nice goove on Evolsidog. Not sure bout that title tho

There are no 'official' links to the snippets. They were heard by those that attended Paisley Park. If it were out there for all to hear 'officially' then the org would not have a problem........... unless you want to answer to any cease and desists and/or getting sued ..........

The full tracklist was only shared to a select few. I'm not in that circle.

It seems strange they would delay a great release just for the vinyl heads.

I get it, that’s how you rince the most cash out of the hardcore but I reckon if there was a Parade Super Deluxe DIGITAL release before Christmas… with a vinyl release as a follow up in March 22… surely the vinyl heads would still buy it and we’d all be happy?

As you can probably guess, I’m not a vinyl buyer really, just want those vault tracks soon!

Yeah I;'ve said this many times, they could easily release digital or CD first and then when possible release the vinyl version.

Those who expect with these snippets (Parade sessions) that these could be a preview for a Parade box deluxe are wrong (me too...even i thought 1st this could be) .....at this stage ...M.Howe is still archiving (work in progress) nothing more & this is not an indication of a Parade box in the months to come !

We’re all just spoiled and needy for the funk.

I’m cool with them archiving and finding more and more.

I’ll pay for an updated Super Deluxe if they find more Parade Stuff down the back of a couch in a French Hotel from ‘85.

Until then… HIT US WITH WHATCHA GOT MIKE!

I can understand people not sharing the actual tracks but not sharing a tracklist of an abandoned project is just being really tight.

As the recording of Evolsidog dates back to April of 1985, is this his first song with a Camille-style lead vocal throughout? He flirted with it in Erotic City, though the first verse is in a slightly slowed down version of his regular voice. Love Or $ was tracked later in July of 1985, which would make it another early example.

Also, anyone else hearing the lyric "jack me off" in first verse?

"That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

Well, I just got a verbal beatdown on something I posted somewhere else that got deleted, so yeah this guy being really tight is a understatment.

Feels like a lot of the unreleased stuff is unreleased because he re-used the ideas elsewhere, like the bass from Witness v2 became Bob George, The Ball became Eye No and this is basically a different version of New Position. So he only released his idea when it came out in a form that suited him at the time.

All that said, I'd love to hear the whole thing.

That’s the tapestry of all his work. Hearing how he developed the songs is the Holy Grail.

Am I the only one who doesn’t think it’s far fetched to think we could get 2 SDE next year? We already know parade has been planned, as well now as D&P.. releasing one early in the year in like March and then another in November seems like a possibility in my opinion.
