At this point, i wouldn't be surprised if D&P is postponed and Parade SDE released next year instead.

I'm not saying I don't want D&P. I'm just saying I would prefer Parade by a long way.

That Evolsidog was nice, would love to hear the full version in my headphones. Parade is one of my favorites, would have personally preferred the Parade Deluxe to SOT Deluxe, but I'll take anything at this point, could acutally use a Purple Fix sooner than later, hopefully something comes out soon, I don't care the source.

Am I the only one who doesn’t think it’s far fetched to think we could get 2 SDE next year? We already know parade has been planned, as well now as D&P.. releasing one early in the year in like March and then another in November seems like a possibility in my opinion.

I think it's possible so they can move on to something else in 2023. We will probably get another unreleased album in 2023 and Purple Rain SDE in 2024 smile

It seems strange the my would delay a great release just for the vinyl heads. I get it, that’s how you run e the most cash out of the hardcore but I reckon if there was a Parade Super Deluxe DIGITAL release before Christmas… with a vinyl release as a follow up in March 22… surely the vinyl heads would still buy it and we’d all be happy? As you can probably guess, I’m not a vinyl buyer really, just want those vault tracks soon!

Yeah I;'ve said this many times, they could easily release digital or CD first and then when possible release the vinyl version.

Don't like the word vinyl heads, as if there is something wrong in the thinking of the CD heads. wink

Digital release is a must nowadays.

But Prince fans in general are older, maybe more into physical releases.

I never bought a digital release in my life, to be honest.

I (still) have no interest in that, why i can't really tell.

Though i need to change that (I believe).

So yeah, a digital release ia 'a' welcome solution.

Why not.

Digital should speed things up so hopefully soon they will launch a Digital music store with regular releases.

I loved the Welcome 2 America album but the boxset was full of stuff I had no interest in which I assume they put alot of work into.

They should concentrate on the music either all the multiple coloured vinyl releases.

We only need one issue of each album.

I agree but i guess that's the best way they've found to make as much money as possible. Unfortunately, digital releases would not raise so much money.

It would be nice if in an online store they could offer unmixed/unremixed or alternate takes of tracks
that they end up putting on albums like "Welcome 2 America". from what I understood there were a
few changes in tracks and mixes to what they found on the cdr's. So an online store for fans would be
a great way to release some of that stuff and make some money whilst keeping fans very happy.

I don't know if anyone out there would be waiting for a 10 minute version of say "Rin Tin Tin" but I'd
be chuffed as chips with it and gladly pay a few bucks for it and everything else they could dig up.

Howe recently stated they'd be looking into releasing some protégée material, and 2022 does mark 40 years of Nasty Girl...

That's a SDE I'd gladly buy twice!

We were allowed to have cellphones out, so there were people recording the snippets and interview with Dr. Fink and Bobby Z.

31st March 1986 was the release date of Parade in USA?

Okay, what about that as a release date but those 3 snippet songs released as promo singles today?

That too much to ask Mike?

Yes US release date.

I'm trying not to let myself get too excited about the presumably remote prospect of a Parade SDE. Surely most of the stuff from those sessions has gone onto the SotT SDE?

Maybe we'll get an "expanded deluxe" like we did with Purple Rain.

Estate is unable to meet `deadlines` like that.

What deadline? They didn't announce anything regarding Parade SDE being released or even worked on. The delay regarding vinyl production that is not on them.
I'm the last person to defend there horrible way of releasing things and incomplete releases, but if there still archiving everything and still find material that should have been released on the already released SDE's then we just have to accept it. It's either release nothing and wait until everything is sorted and archived (which coulkd take a decade or maybe more) or release 'something' and obvously they chose that way.

What deadline?

.

Are you serious?

When you want to release an XX years anniversary set, you'd want to do that in the anniversary year, right?

This date/year presents itself as a deadline.

.

Or would you want to see a PR 25 year anniversary set right now? (with stuff that is not in the SDE of course such as a properly mastered album)

.

This is because the 'Howe' operation is just that.

It is slow and shows no sign of the need for speed.

This means that the Estate and WB are completely out of even understanding the landscape, let alone control it.

Speculation? No, how else would on explain this? Occam's razor, etc.

Also: nothing is what it appear to be.

Further: they will not throw this SDE on the market like TBA, so when we look at the calendar there is little time.
