Yeah, fuck all that pretensious noise. I like Larry as a bass player but he can go ahead and miss me with the rest of his bullshit.

I think he befriended Prince at his most vulnerable and I don't think it's any coincidence that Prince went through his most hardcore religious period right around the death of his:

IN such rapid succesion. I can speak from experience that a 1, 2, 3 (and 4) punch like that can make you empty and searching for things to fill the void. Someone comes along and says that all the answers are in Some Book and couples it with a lot of double speak can really hook, reel in and land a lonely mark.

I don't mean to shit on Larry or Prince's friendship with him. Prince seemed to really love him and I'm sure he needed somebody. I'm just skeptical of people selling answers that have homophobia as one of its central tenents, along with several other dubious assertions.

Grief can lure you into a certain situation, ideal or otherwise. But I don’t wanna rob Prince of his agency and lay the blame entirely on Larry, I think they mirror each other’s views in a lot of ways, even before they met. Prince has always been a conservative person in his personal views even when he made those raunchy songs, according to the people who worked with him. It was inevitable for someone to encourage that side of him to appear more, that someone happens to be Larry.

Unfortunately it’s one of the complex factors some of us have to navigate through as fans, I feel conflicted & personally hurt when I hear those views because I’m a gay man myself, but I have to accept that as the uncomfortable truth in order to enjoy his music as a whole.

Hey that’s his own truth can’t say it’s a unique view though, but it’s his & it never personally bothered me, even though I’m not Christian.

There are many spiritual themes that appear in his music, which many Christians & JWs for that matter, would deem sacrilegious. I happen to appreciate those contradictions, because they made him to be the human being many of us are too, beings with curiosity and hunger for knowledge.
