This stuff drives up lawyer fees, every piece of paper that have to submit to get rid of foolish crazy attention seeking crap like this is $$. Maybe that's why the siblings sold. Too much. In the back of my mind I keep thinking the selling was temporary or maybe it that crumb of optimism I refuse to let go. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

They've dealt with so much of this stuff coming in directly to the court that they probably just have a court clerk whip out a form letter for Eide to sign.
What would *really* take a lot of attorneys' fees is if the estate tried to shut her down; that's what she wants: a countersuit.

The files show Comerica had to file something requesting for her claim to be dismissed. Every time they have to file a form they charge for the time it takes to get that done. So I don't think there's a court clerk doing anything like that automatically. This woman keeps filing claims. But since I posted my comment I saw that there can be a filing against the Patrick Swayze estate regarding an unknown child, based on what I've seen so far is still in court. So, I guess inheritance claims can go on indefinitely. (Was Jason Whittle left an inheritance from Patrick Swayze? Jason can actually claim some of his late father’s $40 million estates as he is a rightful heir. But Lisa, the wife of the late Patrick Swayze, denies that he has any claim to the inheritance. She states that Jason isn’t really the son of Patrick and therefore has no claim on the actor’s estate. As of March 2021, this is still going through the courts.) Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Interesting. Why can't they do a dna test to see if he is his son? Maybe no dna?

Even IF he is, if the estate has been settled OR the time for filing has passed, he's SOL.
Kinda how they are rejecting Ms Looney Tunes for her late filings to the Prince estate

Yep. Ever read one of these legal billing breakdowns? They charge for the time of every phone call made, the time to type up every form or letter that needs to be submitted, they charge based on a salary chart on who did the actual work whether it's the lawyer, paralegal, office assistant etc. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Not only that, but Judge Eide didn't even personally sign the "rejection" orders. His name was rubber-stamped.

Oh, Lordie. I don't know who wrote John Roger Nelson's obituary, but it wrongly names Duane Nelson as a brother.
The family knows that Duane was actually unrelated (being the son of John L Nelsons first wife and a man named Joseph Griswold). Then there's "Breanna", the same name as an heir to Duane who tried to get named as a Prince heir (which the court rejected due to there being no relation).

Unless the person who died is famous, typically the family itself submits obituaries.

John R. Nelson has a Breanna and Duane has a Breanna. Although Duane was not actually related he was identified as brother by Prince, they did grow up together. John L also treated Duane like a son, therefore he was included in the obituary. Oh Lordie, have we forgotten what Prince once said about Pedanticism? [Edited 9/23/21 11:45am] |

Duane was a big argument in determining the heirs. Some say John Rogers Nelson treated Duane better than Prince. |

Do you mean "John L. Nelson" (Prince's father) treated Duane better than Prince?
If so, I agree. Duane actually lived with Prince's dad while Prince was living at other people's houses. $10/week allowance didn't make up for that.
The problem resulted from Vivian (John L's ex-wive) putting John L. Nelson as the father of Duane on the birth certificate. But the child's father was actually Joseph Griswold.
It's obvious that Duane was not related to Prince or any of John L Nelson's children, who all resemble each other. Duane was tall and (despite Prince calling him "handsome and tall" in a song), he definitely was not.
Prince *always* knew that Duane was not his brother even though he was referred to as one.

Really ?
Just to get the complex situation more clear, a family tree starting :
- one from John L Nelson's Parents marriages.
- antoher one from Mattie's partents marriages.
That would be nice from a start.
Just a clear overview.

You've asked several times when this would be resolved. There is no answer to the question because none of us here could possibly know. Even those involved don't know. You will get the answer when it happens.
Why are you so concerned about it anyway? It's not like any of us will get anything out of the estate. Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end |

Hope she's capable of remembering something.
And hope she knows how to surround herself with the right people.
I have no idea how much she can bring to the Prince story tbh.

Looks like the woman who claims to be Prince's "real heir" is sending out death threats to the Personal Representative (Comerica), their attorneys and basically, anyone.
They've taken the unusual step (rightly so) is sending the direct communication fo the Court for a decision on how to proceed.
Her correspondence is page 2 here:
