D&P SDE Seems Impossible to Me

PEOPLE OF EARTH - Maybe my understanding is based on outdated information, but a couple of things I've read make it seem impossible that a D&P SDE is coming or even in the works.
Here's what I understand and PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong because I really want to be wrong about this:

1. Variety reported this in 2018 - "Starting in 2021, Sony/Legacy’s distribution rights will be expanded to include 12 Prince non-soundtrack catalog albums, featuring music recorded by the artist from the 1978-1996 era for distribution in the United States. Music from this period covered under the agreement includes the albums “Prince” (1979), “Dirty Mind” (1980), “Controversy” (1981), “1999” (1982), “Around the World in a Day” (1985), “Sign ‘O’ The Times” (1987), “Lovesexy” (1988), “Diamonds and Pearls” (1991) and “[Love Symbol]” (1992), and “much more,” the announcement reads."

That would show that WB doesn't have the rights to release D&P at all, much less in a SDE. Perhaps something about the above announcement has changed since 2018 and I just missed it.

2. Someone on Reddit said: "I read the interview with the guy in charge of the vault cataloguing and he said that Sony only asked for the master tapes of the albums for the legacy releases. They didn't ask for any remixes or vault tracks for those re-releases."

I don't recall the exact language used in the interview, but this jives with my hazy memory (hoping it's just a case of the Madela effect), of having read it some time ago. Sony may have changed their minds since and requested extra stuff, but I don't find anything about that online.

Providing I haven't missed some update, it seems to me completely illogical to expect anything of D&P other than a straight release with no added stuff and possibly not even remastered.

PLEASE TELL ME AND SHOW ME I'M WRONG CUZ I WANT TO BE SO WRONG HERE

Given that a D&P SDE (as far as I know) wasn’t something that most fans were absolutely clamouring for (or not compared to Parade anyway), I was originally expecting them to do something more along the lines of a single round of Legacy reissues for D&P/Love Symbol/Come to put those albums on affordable vinyl again, before doing the expanded reissue thing a few more years into the future.

But who knows, I guess. All these teasing info posts on the official social media channels are slightly baffling me at the minute, lol.
