My source said we will get an announcement for D&P super deluxe before the end of the year.. with a release early next year (Jan or Feb) there will be a one off release in the summer.. and then Parade super deluxe released around the holiday season.. legacy releases will be crystal call and the NPG music club compilations “the chocolate invasion” and “welcome to the slaughterhouse” … yes my source is very official and accurate of course…

An RSD release in July could be your one-off release. Like I posted here last week, I have a strong feeling it will be a never-released album such as Chocolate Invasion.

But all the releases you are quoting, is a calendar impossible to stand.
Just like the one Schkopi announced in February of 2021 : W2A in April, CB in the summer, D&P in November...

I highly doubt there will be Parade for the holiday season. I expect it for 2023.

that would be so nice (but hard to believe considering the current output speed of the Estate)

The Truth coming out as a standalone release instead of being tied to Crystal Ball was cool especially considering it came to life as a follow-up to Emancipation which got cancelled and later tacked as a bonus album on Crystal Ball

now for the other releases, NPG Music Club and Crystal Ball, it's just a question of "when" really.

especially considering a Crystal Ball reissue was likely planned for last year, and with vinyl being included of course, this means mastering and artwork creation went into place and there is no way the Estate will throw this work away. it's a question of building and sticking to a calendar.

of course the coronavirus pandemic must have impacted their plans, but two SDEs per year is not asking much especially when you look at what other artists Estates are doing.

I think these plans were all in place but with the pandemic and the increasing supply problems, as well as the continued increase in demand of vinyl and the strain on record pressing plants because of it, they have had to push back dates. As someone who works in music retail I see it every day. Blaming the estate, I believe is wrong. You could make an argument for "why vinyl" or "why not just digital" but the fact is the money is in physical product and let's face it, Prince's fans are older and most of us want the physical product, including vinyl, books, CD. I sincerely believe that the estate is being run phenominally and that as soon as some of these challenges are taken care of, we will see a nice steady flow of product. I was as disappointed as anyone by the D&P fiasco, but getting mad and bitching really doesn't do any good at all. W2A was a great set and considering all the challenges WE HAVE ALL faced the past two years, I felt fortunate to get that. I hope we can all look forward to next year with great hope and anticipation for some GREAT new Prince releases. I also, want to wish everyone on here the best, you are a great grooup of people and this community has been so fun to be involved with. HERE'S TO 2021!

A post went onto George Michaels social media today saying they’re having to postpone the release of the Older 25th anniversary edition ‘due to global supply and manufacturing difficulties’. So maybe it’s the same with D&P Deluxe?

No reason that I should know, I had no idea. Why should I know? I don't really have any interest in who does what behind the scenes. I just want the music and enjoy it or not on its own merit. Whoever puts a package together has no bearing on my enjoyment of the music.

I'm probably not buying any box sets from now on anyway, so that matters even less to me now. With 1999 and SOTT, I flicked through the books once and they haven't been looked at since. Then they do a box set where you have to buy the vinyl set to get a Blu-Ray, which is just stupid because I can't even play vinyl records, so had less than zero interest in what was in the Welcome 2 box set. I'll just buy digital editions to make sure I'm still supporting the estate.
