Always happy to hear what Eric says.

He has a good personal view on Prince and his music i realy appreciate.

Here's the part of this article i think sums up hw he loved <prince :

-

"

Did you ever know anyone who could record an entire album by themselves?

From what I understand, Stevie Wonder did. If you go back to early articles on Prince about Stevie Wonder, the reference was obvious. I understand that when they first brought him to the attention of Warner Bros. Records, they hyped him, saying, “This kid could be the next Stevie Wonder.” At that time, the ability to play all those instruments and with the depth he did… He was known as an iconic rock guitar player, that’s a given. The instrument I used to love listening to him play more than anything was bass. I had a lot of opportunity to hear him play the other instruments to a degree that others did not, at jam sessions and long soundchecks. Before Paisley Park was built, for the first several years, when I was working with him, we would do most of our recording in LA at Sunset Studios. So it wouldn't be unusual for Matt and I to be out in LA for weeks at a time. He would block out a studio for maybe a month, and we’d be in there almost every day. There were times when we would go in with just him and Wendy and Lisa, and it was not unusual for us to go into the studio late at night with him for hours. We would just jam and he would float between instruments, and those were the opportunities when you really got to hear Prince play."

Stevie is a GENIUS and obvious comparison, but their skills are very different. They both have unbelievable ears. I wud pay big $ for a video of their Maybe Your Baby live performance...cant believe the Org has never covered any of the story surrounding it.

What I really like about Eric is how honest and down to earth he is.

I was discussing Prince with a musician the other week and mentioned that although Prince is renowned for his guitar, I thought his bass playing is even better.
There may or may not be something coming!

Same…I loved his guitar playing, but his bass playing was really where it’s at for me, too!

He is everything Prince was not, and vice versa.

Prince was not honest and down to earth, ever? That's a bit like saying there are no benefits to Brexit?

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

Are there any? Which ones in specific?

Just off the top of my head. There's a new free trade deal about to be signed with New Zealand. That will result in 16% off the price of Manuka Honey. I'm buzzing about that neutral

Don't compare fruit with elevators.

It's not all black and white of course.

-

Prince neeede religion up to the deepest of it throughout all his life.

Even more so lateron in his life with the horrible choice of jw.

That is so far away from being down to earth.

Grounded and untethered with both feet on the ground, free from all worries.

Regardless of spiritual issues.

Living unbridled without having to attach himself to needless questions through a poorly shouted book with inhumane rules.

Free living without imposed unearthly rules. The fact that freedom is a word that Prince has (mis)used as often as possible, says it all... that his heart overflows with longing to be free.

Witch I doubt he ever felt truely.

I'm not an expert when it come to Prince though, this is just my humble opinion.

But after nearly fourty years of trying to follow Prince, i kind have my own (european) thoughts about it all.

Again, never met the guy, never slept with him.

Peace to us all.

No video exists as far as I know though I’d love to see it again. It’s been imprinted on my mind because P’s reaction to playing with his idol was priceless. On a related note the performance of Peach circulated in soundboard not too long ago, holding out hope the whole show is released in SB quality , somebody has it ..
