Now that the album's been out for a bit, I'd like to see how the various formats did among Orgers (wish we had a poll feature on this forum.) The options are:

1. CD
2. Japanese CD/Blu-ray
3. Super Deluxe Edition
4. I'm just gonna stream it
5. Vinyl

I went with the single cd. How 'boutchoo?

Not too bothered about W2A to be honest. I might pick up the single CD at one time, but for now I am happy enough with streaming. I will however buy future SDE's from all of Prince's 80's albums! And perhaps SDE's of later albums, depending on the material the estate decides to include.

Yep, the lyics and full credits are there, and a few photos. Classy little booklet housed in a gatefold cover, a la Purple Rain SDE (but the cd sits in a plastic tray.)

I had to go for the full SDE, because I wanted the book. I'm a sucker for a special edition book. I pull them out and reread them all the time.

Didn't buy it, haven't heard it.

I intially ordered the deluxe at Amazon,fr for 74 but passed it on because I felt it was to expensive for only getting the live dvd.

I hope they will see the error in hiding the live dvd's in Deluxe releases and start selling the shows seperately later on.

CD for me. Can't play vinyl, so SDE would have been a complete waste of money. I have cash to buy the Blu-Ray but the estate don't want my money.

Streaming. Maybe CD later but so far not massively into it.

I got the deluxe simply because I wanted the blu-ray. Otherwise I would have gotten the standard CD.

Deluxe. I've been watching the blu-ray over and over. It's really good. "Little Red Corvette" and "Purple Rain" are highlights. Prince wasn't just going through the motions.

I also got the Deluxe version just for the blu-ray. I would have prefered to pay less for a CD/BD combo but there weren't any good ways to preorder the Japanese release and have it shipped to my area. Really, I don't know if it would have been that much cheaper, and it included the vinyl too so whatever. I can do without all the little knickknacks, though.

The blu-ray's solid and I'm getting my money's worth out of it.

I also bought it through iTunes and I'll probably grab a stand alone CD at some point. Just for the shelf... and a lyrics book that is a little more manageable.

Pre-ordered the CD the day it was announced, have been streaming it so much it's basically all on my Spotify On Repeat. Hopefully gunna get the deluxe for Christmas!

The inflated price of the set with the concert that I may have been interested in viewing since I like to see him perform live was a big turn off.

Regardless I haven't even streamed them yet.

And I'm glad I did, as I also ordered the Deluxe Edition from the Prince store, which of course came on black vinyl. (I also ordered the gold vinyl W2A single because, what the hell, we live once.)

And it is a BEAUTIFUL package. I'm amazed how little has been said about how stunning it is. It's very well put together, a real treat. All I've heard is people bitching about the price and because it contained vinyl they didn't want. Whatever, it's a great package and I'm really glad I shelled out for it.

Welcome 2 America is a very good album indeed, it's really been growing on me.

Overall this is a GREAT release from the estate. Very happy.

Japanese CD/Blu-Ray

Why would there be brexit costs when ordering from Japan? Normally there would be customs import duty and DHL handling charges, so if you escaped them you got lucky and that's awesome.
