A homemade CD made from a download from a friend. When the next 1980s release comes out, the format I'll buy will depend on the price and how much money I have at the time. I'll definitely buy the CD versions of all of the years of that decade. However, if it's "Dirty Mind" or "Controversy" and I end up loving the deluxe edition as much as I loved "1999", I'll buy the vinyl version also if the price isn't too ridiculous because the badass Prince from 1978 to 1984 is the one I love and can't get enough of. When I got my stimulous money last year, I was going to buy the vinyl version of "1999" but the damn thing was no longer available. The late 80s stuff, I'm happy with just the CD versions. I love the artsy/fartsy Prince from 1985 to 1989 but he's no match for the previous badass Prince. Anything from the 1990s to the present, I might have a little curiosity about but not enough interest to spend one dime on.

Andy is a four letter word.

The clear vinyl from HMV. Not ruling out picking up the gold version from a second-hand source at some point, if the price isn't utterly daft.

Special Deluxe Edition for me is the only way to go. I try to get everything Prince put out. Plus I want to have it for my kids in the future so they know how Prince was and still is an ICON in music. No one like Prince and never will be again so I enjoy celebrating him to the fullest.

The deluxe. I waited until five days after release in the UK and snagged a copy for £100 (rather than £149), which I thought was fair for such a beautiful set.

Didn't buy it, haven't heard it.

Why did you not listen yet? (Just curious...)

Just haven't really been in a Prince place for a long time. I'm sure I'll check it out eventually. But I find it hard to get excited about posthumous releases...

Funny. I haven't been into a Prince place for a while either, but W2A put me back! So go ahead, give it a listen!

I bought the CD from Amazon Canada on the release day, but I didn't receive the disc until a about 10 days ago, as it had to come from one of it's Marketplace sellers, so it ended up being an EU-made CD, mailed from Belgium.

I wasnt aware of an SDE version. Perhaps it wasn't available in Canada, I will have to see.

And how would one do that without buying it? Surely you aren't advocating that someone steal the music?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

^ If you're a Prince fan, then spending money on Prince music is not a strange thing to do.

Super Deluxe Edition: Even though I don't play vinyl this package was just too sweet to pass up.

Target Clear Vinyl Edition: Just because

Standard CD: Why wouldn't I?

Who's the private d*ck that's a sex machine to all the chicks?
Who's the man that would risk his neck for his brother man?
Who's the cat who won't cop out when there's danger all about?
John Shaft ... Damn Right!

Deluxe and gold vinyl.

i was tempted to get the clear one too but that would have been overkill.

W2A is streaming for free on the official estate YouTube channel "without buying it" like all the other posthumousreleases. (i.e. choice #4 in op).
