Couple things, love the album, it is solid, especially up to and through Same Page Different Book.

Listening to the title track a few times gives a new perspective to when he kicked Kim off the stage and said, "welcome 2 america". Just adds a whole new aspect of humor to it.

I reversed the chants in the title track, slowed it down, and this is what my ears hear.

Was Viacom even relevant in 2010? I guess in Prince's mind MTV was still a thing. They are certainly not today.

Now, whether Prince reversed it, or the estate, that is a whole different question. If the estate is not anti vax, and especially in this polorized climate, perhaps they took some liberties to avoid news headlines about Prince being anti vax, and Prince calling on folks to challenge Viacom. I honestly would not be surprised if this is the case, but on the other hand, Prince is notorious for backwards stuff in his music, so, it is likely we could never really know. It is the timing of it all, and the coincidental nature, that is suspect to me. The most polarizing political topic that is happening RIGHT NOW, just happens to be reversed....hmmm. Would I agree with them reversing it? Absolutely not, whatever Prince's views were, they shouldn't be altered, hidden, or edited in any way.

We pretty much already knew his stance on vax from New World and various interviews.

I think you may be right, I slowed it down even further, 40% slower, and the words are much more clear.

I believe I may have said this on another page a while back, but it's a direct reference to Clear Channel (who is now iHeartRadio) who was purchasing a lot of localized radio stations. Viacom did the same with MTV, BET, VH1.. and now CBS, etc). That one line is "Clear the Channel of facts" when isolated.

I think this whole song is about conglomerates and their abilities to profit over buying each other out to form bigger behemoths that own social media sompanies - while dictating to you what is "fact"... Instead, you're getting a caricature of what "music", "entertainment" and "news" are.

I'm not sure we can draw that conclusion based on his blood transfusion position - that is doctrine handed down to be adhered to blindly. The JWs are neutral on vaccines, as far as I know.

I certainly know who Viacom is. My point is that Viacom in 2010 was far what Viacom was in 1990's and not particularly cutting edge in digital. Why would Prince name check them and not, say, Apple, Google or, hell, Disney....Did 2010 Prince still think MTV was a thing? Is it about BET?

Viacom merged, unmerged and remerged with CBS so many times I've lost count. Its the media company that seems to have lost its way the most (wont be surprise to see them swalllowed up by someone (Universal?) soon).

I have to admit, my head hurts a bit when I read stuff like this. I'm just going to enjoy the tunes for what they are. I don't think that there is anything subliminal about the album. It's a wake up call for those under the spell. Unfortunately, everyone is to some degree and I do include myself.
