I always wished he'd left one instruction. That the entire vault would be released immediately, for free. With one simple message.
'All of this and more, is for U, with love, sincerity and deepest care, My life with U I share. Welcome to the dawn'.
The revenue is keeping Paisley Park from becoming another Amazon warehouse (perfect location!).

I don't feel guilty, just a little sad that unreleased material isn't coming out at a faster rate |

I have thoroughly enjoyed Welcome 2 America! A great album that has its own identity which definitely fits into the legacy of Prince. However, I know that Prince chose not to release it. That's where my feelings of guilt come in. I know that he said that 'someone will release' the vault recordings 'when I'm gone' and it was joyful to hear a 'new' Prince album (yes I know 3 songs were familiar) but did Prince deserve someone drilling a hole into the vault after he was gone? Equally, his legacy is being kept in the spotlight by these releases so I feel that this is important which justifies the drilling and plundering. I feel like the estate are being responsible about the way they are releasing material in a measured approach. I am certainly enjoying their style of drip feeding material and hope that they don't give in to pressure and speed up their releases. Does anyone else feel a bit guilty?
I dont think Prince cared about any drilling of the vault. I believe he trusted (and said and even maybe wanted) us to ALL figure this out.
His gifts never end.
What I'm wondering is where all the sexy videos of him with his ladies are !! |

If he didn´t want us to hear what´s in the vault, then he would´ve destroyed the material he didn´t want us to hear or see, simple as that. And like you said above, he said someone would release it one day after he´s gone.
@KoolEaze, where do you think all those sexy videos with his ladies are? WHEW. I would pay a fortune to have those |

It just came to me. No one can do anything with any tapes that mightve been at PP or on his computer or anywerhe that were found, because there were other people in them!
But they MUST be somwhere..hahaha. |

TraSoul82 said: Nah, I'm good. Album was full of rehashed riffs and is way too reliant on potential ear worms. Lyrically, it was way too on the money for someone who is usually remarkably clever. He remade "On the Couch" without exactly remaking it. He also remade D'angelo's "Lady" without exactly remaking it. Y'all know I'm not lying. I'm sure I'll raise the score later as usual, but not by much.
I can´t stand "On the Couch" and I love "Lady" but where do you hear those on this album? I don´t hear those influences at all. Just open up "When She Come" and "On The Couch" on 2 separate apps and alternate every few seconds. 2nd example is hyperbole from my end, but the hook on "1000 Light Years" resolves a bit too much like "Lady" for my taste. |

It's all gonna be in the Akashic Records anyway, so we might as well have it now.
