I would be humiliated if any of my non-Prince fan friends heard this song.
What makes this line particularly bad is that it's repeated in chorus. Some of other cheesy lyrics people are mentioning are single lines buried in a the middle of a verse, which you easily miss if you're not paying attention. But this song beats you over the head with "w, w, w, dot emale, dot com." There's no way it's slipping past anyone.

Come on Prince, lol. That song has a killer music track too. |

I actually really like this song espcially playing hide and seek in the thunderstorm,
but verse 2 is just too much for me. I always skip to the next song at this point.
These are sexy lyrics. Nothing to skip over. |

i loved the W2A version of when she comes until i heard the line 'dont act like yo ish dont stink'
this is a seduction song?! lol
How is that a seduction song? Is talking about her not to her, and she's obviously already seduced.
It's more the kind of conversation you have with a friend about your girl, and despite that line's lack of subtelty, which surprised me too at first, I find this whole verse the most interesting (cos the most daring) of the whole song (both versions included) |

This is one of my favorite couplets in a Prince song. I’ve been informed that my opinion is worth less than those expressed by others here. |

Compassion. Just that word in the song, as a chorus. Don’t know why, I just find it silly. Champagne from a glass with chocolate handles. Why on earth? P didn’t drink, obviously.
I'm pretty sure champagne is not champagne and chocolate handles are referring to a body part.

I can't comment on Lust U Always but I'm ok with the rape lines in Extraloveable (hear me out s'il vous plait). In short, Extraloveable is a song that sounds manic, desperate and claustrophobic, both in its breathless vocals, those jarring synth arrangements and the ragged guitar backing. It doesn't sound like Prince meant it to be sexy so much as unnerving, and it that sense the allusions to rape are the logical culmination of the song's atmosphere. |

Release It!!
Seriously one of his best outtakes. I know they could have at least edited or left that vocal part out. until he starts screaming at least. Its literally 15 seconds long. No one will miss it. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records. |

Why would you encourage the Estate to butcher Prince's material for the sake of commercialism even more than they already do? This really isn't necessary.
.
Not releasing anything instead of doing what you suggest is one of the few good decision they made. It'll probably come out in a decade or so, whenever the political context gets less hysterical (and it will).

Anyway, songs are works of fiction unless stated otherwise, and since when can't rapists, murderers and other monsters be featured in works of fiction? Next thing I know, people will ask for Bob George to never be rereleased because they'll say it shamelessly encourages feminicide and mass shootings (sigh). Shall we also ban every movie or novel depicting rape? |
