I can’t remember reading many negative comments on this website concerning Mr. Tudahl’s two books. Most people here are rather acknowledging about his hard and important work... . [Edited 6/14/21 21:41pm]

It's a great book, I can't put it down, and I'm very grateful for the work involved.

- Cmon bro... Per Nilsen stopped writing. For me it all started with his books. (still up to this day) Duane T.'s both books are more than just 'very interesting or entertaining' to me, and I know some Prince fans who think just the same. Sure there are other books and info of importance. We all know that. But bundled like this, somthing we can take in and think about - and would never be able to do it ourselves. No other artist out there has such valuable information of just a part of their creative musical career. - Each his own. But to me, both his books and PrinceVault are unmistakenly of the highest importance concerning all shit Prince. It's the eras of Prince that I love and respect the most. (In these eras he found out that his limitless creativety didn't match with the obstructions of reality.) They are way more interesting that anything he did while the rise of his stardom kinda went up to... you know, when all people around him became yay-sayers. With all this detailed info he was still kind of free to do what he wanted. (Yeah there might be errors in these books... Prince kinda was an error himself. A good one though.) - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Let's face it : most of the comments about Duane's book are vastly positive.
Should we focus on the few negative ones or seek 100% happy people ? I don't think so.
Let's stick to what's important : 95% are grateful to Duane for the work he's achieved and that's what's important.
Besides, i agree with Vannormal, PV & Duane's books are just ESSENTIAL. We're so lucky to have access to such a database. No one owe us fans anything. This could simply not exist at all.
Once again, much love & respect to Duane & to all involved in the books. [Edited 6/15/21 1:13am]

Thanks Duane for providing us something the Estate refuses us.

I'm waiting to get the call from my local bookstore but I know it's worth the wait... Duane has given us not one book but 2 books (so far) that the estate hasn't 'been able' to give us...not because they won't but because they can't... I just don't think they could even attempt to give us such a thorough document of Prince's 'process'... its definitely a good thing that he is now working with the estate because the more skilled and knowledgeable people they have on board the better...Prince's legacy deserves the best...

I don't think Duane is too bothered with the naysayers, Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the sheer quality of this book will outshine any negativity.

Vannormal said: - I totally agree. You are absolutely right. How prepostorous it actually is, not even realizing that a book like this is a holy grail to all us. The shameful, disparaging and immaturity of showing no respect for someone else's hard work. Spoiled purple brats ! -
Kind of how majority of this site did to Prince the last half of his career? Lol right. Nothing is clearly beyond critique. That’s just now it is

A "holy grail to all of us"??... as much of a fan of Prince as i am, there's no logic in putting Mr. Tudahl on such a lofty pedestal...its very interesting and entertaining information, but its no "Holy Grail to ALL of us"...cmon Bro Exactly lol like what kinda crack are these people on

As for those nay-sayers and looky-loo's who bring the tone of this place down, they just want rumours, scandal and gossip to talk about. They aren't interested in the actual "work" of this man. The book is literally half that lol

Yo if Duane's not going do it who will! Give thanks for an eloquent fellow Prince fanatic documenting the most important years.

It's a gem of a book - they both are. It was nice to hear his voice on the recent podcast interviews as well...people are always different to how you imagine them.
He's dedicated years of his life to this work, so fair play to you Duane, your hard work has paid off.

I’ve not seen any. 57 comments on the linked thread below and not one that’s negative about Duane.

I see. I actually thought it was more about the inner workings of his studio work.

I'm glad to hear that! The one thing I missed a bit in the first book, was the more humanizing anecdotes even though of course sometimes that can fall into assumption territory... I love the context of his mentality, or life, ands his social interactions. It all fills in the motivation of what he did in the studio or on stage.
