I convinced my two friends to hang out in the parking lot at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago in the afternoon, hoping to see something. We got there around 2pm and it had been about an hour and all of these black limos and black van pull in the parking lot and head towards the ramp that goes down underneath the venue. The last limo makes it to the bottom of the ramp and all the sudden it starts backing all the way to the top of the ramp where we were standing. This big dude, later find out that it was Gilbert Davison, gets out of the front passenger seat and comes around to the left back of the limo. He opens the door and Prince gets out. I have my camera in hand and take one photo. Gilbert told me not to take another photo. I said, "just let me touch him" and Prince kind of grinned and grabbed a hold of my elbow. I didn't/couldn't say anything else. He got back in the limo and they continued on down the ramp into the venue.

yeah those 3 concerts were pretty good also, did you make it to the aftershow also at the Marquee, with all the people there from the club (just dancers) wondering why we were all appearing and clustering at the stage? (langebleu was there, i know)

Reminds me of After Life, a Japanese movie where people get to relive their favorite memory for eternity. Not a bad vision of heaven - you get to see an old Prince concert again, or better yet, you get to experience any concerts you want, a different one every night. And you can pick your seat, of course.

^ It would be great if heaven worked like that biggrin I daydream about this a lot.

I also daydream about getting to heaven and there is an aftershow where Prince and Miles and Mozart are all jamming away with the great musicians of history smile

I was there.

.

And a show I'd like to see again, as the night was quite stressful for me, and I don't remeber the gig so well!! lol

.

Fantasy show would be Camden Palace aftershow '88.

For me it'd be the Act I show at Warner Theatre in DC. I was 8 rows from the stage and Mayte sat right behind me in that black Egyptian outfit.

One I've seen: Montreux 2013, 3rd night.

.

One I haven't: The Hague, Aug. 19, 1988 (aka "Small Club"), but there are *many* I'd like to (re)live, e.g. some of those Paisley Park shows in 1994-95.

Oooh, this is a hard choice between two of my favourite shows.

There's the first of the 1987 Galgenwaard Sign "O" The Times concerts, which was SUCH an amazing show, made magical because of many, many reasons, but the moment where all the lighters flashed to the beat of the intro of Forever In My Life, like a wave of light, pulsating towards the darkening summer sky. Made quite an impression and probably the moment I became die-hard fan.

And then there's the 2002 Bataclan aftershow, when he lay down on the stage and I shouted to my friend Bram "This is going to be a legendary show!" And it was; he was in such a good mood; he used all the different voices that I love so well and he swept me off my feet.

If I had the choice... I'd chose 2002, I think...

yep. That was a good one. I was quitte tired after oberhausen and paris and this was the closer of a short run of 2 soundcheck, 2 Concerts and aftershow in 38 hours.

That Syracuse show was really good, and it doesn't seem like any recordings exist of better PR shows. So, I'd say that one. I want good seats, too. I didn't see him live till opeining night of Lovesexy in Minnesota. But that Syracuse show is the one that blew my mind wide open.

It might be either the Troubador 2nd late set or the HOB after show in 2002 where they lifted BODP for the after show disc or was it the paisley park 2001 gig (blackwells 1st live set)? He left us with too many great shows to choose one. Gig I wish was at is obvious Small Club from 88

I was 13 when the Lovesexy tour came around.

My dad took me to MSG on Oct 2 and I was beyond my wildest 13 year old dreams

I almost had a heart attack when I heard he was coming back to play Long Island.

But I could not convince my dad to trek to Long Island (from Staten Island) for it....

How was it different / better?

THANKS
