Top 3 should be Prince, Rundgren, Zappa. Dats just me doe. The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

It's just one man's opinion, but I do love it when he gets props. I also like the number of women. I didn't count, but it felt like a good amount.

Pleasantly surprised and fair. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I get that he's trying to make an interesting list, but when you say "rock star," you think Elvis, Mick and Bono, not their guitarists, no matter how genius. But then he does recognize Mercury, and doesn't mention the Queen guitar guy whose name escapes me at the moment. Am glad there's no Michael or Kanye, no offense.

Actually, it's kinda hard to exclude Kanye if you include two rappers (Chuck & Em). I just personally don't like the guy.

So many glaring ridiculous rankings...Sinead O'Connor and the Edge over Aretha and Stevie? 🤮

Aretha is a rock star?
Stevie? Chuck d? Love these artists but no. They aren't arseholey enough basically. There are other rappers and rnb artists who are more like rock stars Kanye yes Rick James Miles Davis Betty Davis Bootsy Collins Prince was a Rock star 247 even when his music wasnt so he should def be there. I do think Hendrix could have been above him though. And sinead o connor is a total rock star, love or hate her. And the edge inspired a ton of guitarists. [Edited 7/11/21 4:50am]

If u or Spin are going to so narrowly define "Rock Star" then why even include Stevie and Aretha on the List.

Not a bad list to be fair, although Nick Cave should be waaayyy higher, at least top 20, and PJ Harvey should be somewhere on the list too, top 30 at least..

I love these lists. They are always so predictable and silly. This one is certainly varied. This is just one man's opinion and so we shouldn't get too wound up about it. I don't necessarily disagree with #1 however. There's the joke that if there's ever a nuclear war, the only beings left alive afterwards will be a cockroach and that guy. Im just glad that Prince still has a serious ranking like that with Spin after all this time. They always championed him anyway.
