Neruda, amazing tune.

U all hear it? Great instrumental, and I don't even like his instrumentals. Very 70s movie sound track vibe like Ennio Morricone. Horns, strings, very different.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Are you talking about Rumeta? If so, I agree it sounds fantastic. I'm certainly hearing the Morricone vibes. This was slated for the 2nd 3rdeyegirl album, right? It sounds like such a departure from their sound.

Rumeta sounds even more amazing when you take the seperate parts that are circulating, and combine them into one track, all that is missing at that point are the vocals. He had some amazing stuff in store for us all.

Neruda lol. Have always loved this. The end section reminds me of the best parts of Baltimore. Beautiful though. Gets me all in my feelings sometime touched

Dont know how true it is , but i heard that a fan had actully played around with it to add those different parts. Dont know if anyone on this site has any more info on it.

Not true. All the parts are legit. The only way it’s been “played around” with is that it’s a unique mix, that actually identifies the individual that allowed it to end up with bootleggers

There are 3 parts of this song cirulating, along with Frida Kahlo (strings) and Pangea (strings), all from generally the same 2015 time period.

This song, and the others mentioned above, are representative of the 'New Minneapolis Sound' that Prince created, and dubbed, in 2015. Baltimore was the first example of this that we got. If you remember there were 2 version of Baltimore, one with guitar/solo, and other with strings that replaced the guitar that came a few days later. The idea of the New Minneapolis Sound was that Prince would have his guitar playing /solo replaced with strings and/or horns, directly bassed the guitar playing. He would send his guitar version out as the guide, and get the orchestra or horns version back in its place with the guitar completely or mostly gone.

Rumeta existing as an original, strings, and horns, shows this process. Original is his original guitar guide version, while the horns and strings versions are the two he got back after his guitar was taken out and replaced.

When they are combined, it sounds cool, but whether Prince intended this is a different story. He probably would have gone with one or the other imo.

Are there enough of these to complete an album? I remember hearing abt a jazzy npg orchestra backed album with Andrew Gough (I think) involved. Was this the Black is the New Black album or no? Was Ruff Enuff from these sessions? So many of you have such "insider". information. I didn't know about this strings/horns approach towards arrangements from that era!
