Do you pick up extra copies of Prince albums when you see them in stores?

Sometimes I come across some Prince music in thrift stores. This week I found Emancipation and Diamonds and Pearls. I already have more than one of both CDs but I like to have back ups since so many are out of print and the releases of others are ridiculously priced online.

I have at least 4 copies of 1999 now that I have the deluxe set. I bought a japanese pressing years ago to add to the original CD pressing that excluded DMSR. I consider that one to be somewhat of a collectible because it is so old. My collection is in my summer place that sits empty most of the year. My brother and a couple of his buddies asked to use the place for a long weekend. Since they dont have much class, I didnt think they would have any interest in touching my CDs, stereo, or my white cloud guitar. I was wrong - they decide that they want play my oldest 1999 CD but could not figure out the audio system. I get there 3 weeks later and all that is left is the emply jewel case. I call my brother who calls his pals - none of them know anything. I am still livid.

Now I am trying to buy another 1999 without DMSR to replace the new gap in my 43 year old music collection.

No but I used to pick up extra copies of Prince cassettes when I'd see them at flea markets.

Where is your summer place?

No, because I don't need endless copies of something. A few things I have doubles of, sure. But it keeps someone else from hearing it. I've heard it, own it, got it. Let someone else discover it.

If it's something more rare, like Romance 1600 on CD, then I'll snag it (which I did a couple of years ago).

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

The only doubles LP's - CD's I have are the ones I received as gifts (birthdays) or someone who thought i absolutely didn't have it.

I sometimes sell them.

I do have quite some 45 rpm's and Max-singles doubles of Prince and associates.

I like to buy surprise boxes during a public sale, or from the internet, or flea markets.

Love to collect vinyls.

Sometimes I find surprises in there.

This week boaught a box of 50+ vinyls for 15€

Found myself a Jill Jones Maxi-single in there (Mia Bocca) and a couple of Prince singles.

Yes I tend to if I see one in a charity shop. I have picked up diamonds and pearls and the symbol album for a pound! I have a CD player in the car and in my man cave so I play them in there.

If I see a Gold Experience or something "rare" like that, I'd pick it up.

If I run across something Prince related I will get it. If I don't have it in my collection I keep it and if it's a dupe then I send it to my niece.

No, I've got a big Prince collection and quit buying CDs.

No, I usually just stick with what I've got till something breaks. But my dad on the other hand, he has three 12" LPs of Herbie Hancock's 'Rockit' lol

Yes always. I can’t leave a copy sitting in the $2 bin.

Planet Earth is the most underrated Prince album.

I always like PE more than Musicology (which I thought was just crappy). But PE starts well, but sorta fades in the last 1/3 or so.
