Oh and a setting powder? Interesting. No foundations?

Yeah, but powder can be translusent, and not require a ton of colors. Foundation - that's a whole other monster with shades, production, etc. I can see why, as a limited exclusive, that wasn't done. Imagine all the left over foundations not purchased. They'd be losing money.

I like the color story on the main palette. The names are fun.

Top row: Sexy Dancer | Crystal Ball | Endorphinmachine | Gett Off | Love 2 The 9s

Bottom row: Shockadelica | Groovy Potential | The Artist | Bold Generation | So Dark

I can't make out the other palette. And is the one on the bottom a mini or another regular one? I assume the black and white things are both eye liner pencils. Not sure what's in the squeeze tube.

One thing I noticed with Prince's makeup is that he never really did a lot of contouring. He never tried to narrow his nose, or sink his cheeks in with a darker contour. I never much saw a highlight on the top of his cheek bones, or above his brow, or even the tip of his nose. It always (with a few exceptions) seemed to be to even his skin and keep him looking snatched AF.

I'm on mobile right now but Allure has a full breakdown of the products and costs. Yes those are liners - black and white! Love that. And yes you're right, foundations would be a whole other thing but I'm surprised why a setting powder at all I guess. Still fun! I LOVE the Let's Go Crazy palette.

Per the Allure article, you can get the whole shebang in a special packaging for $250. Yowza. But tempted.

I mean, not bad? I'm a big spoiled because I buy a lot of Jeffree Star Cosmetics palettes, and they always stay right in the $52-58 range. When I see smaller palettes for more money, I'm like "Why is that so much?!" haha

But $250 for a limited run of something with Prince's name on it, okay. That's as much as we spent on SOTT deluxe, wasn't it? Or one of those damn things. I'll just get ONE, then.

That is affordable. This ain't drug store makeup like ELF or Maybelline. The $250 is everything in a special vault case. PRNFamily posted a screenshot from someone holding it up. $250 for what it is, isn't bad. Anymore, and I'd be raising an eyebrow at it. That's the ceiling for me.

Yeah like TP said, this actually is affordable! You can easily see some capsules go for $500+ so it straddles the line between overpriced (ABH) and super affordable (Wet N Wild, Maybelline). Urban Decay could be likened to a Sugar Pill or other designer label where $35-60 a palette is the general range.

Also the packaging is super posh. Those symbol emblems are metal and it's definitely premium art there. Obviously, packaging is a huge huge part of the cost of this stuff and you can see the attention to detail here. All in all, if the product is not garbage, this is a steal. It's too bad makeup doesn't have a permanent shelf life because I would wanna buy one to use and one to hoard.

Btw all that said, I would've been pleasantly surprised to see the palettes at half that price. I'm pretty sure both UD and the estate could've managed that since they're not exactly a boutique shop. Oh well. I'm pumped!!!

I would love to read what's it's made of, where it's made, and what it's tested on.

Wasn't Prince against animal testings ?

Will that be on the label too if it's the case ?

And $ 250 fucking dollars...

This all is so embarresing i think.

Why the fuck not make his high heels available for $ 750 a pair ?

In all sizes, colours, prints, just to make it even worse.

And why not his silk underwear?

Or his vegas dishes ?

Am I the only upset by this wrong energy and efforts ?

What was Prince's main business again ? Music ?

Our dead prince can't be Ariana or Beyoncé or Madonna or whomever wants to releases make-up.

If the guy was still alive, and he did release this himself... OK.

His choice.

One thing I noticed with Prince's makeup is that he never really did a lot of contouring. He never tried to narrow his nose, or sink his cheeks in with a darker contour. I never much saw a highlight on the top of his cheek bones, or above his brow, or even the tip of his nose. It always (with a few exceptions) seemed to be to even his skin and keep him looking snatched AF.

i came here wanting jaded and cynical people to bitch with me but what i got instead was a group full of makeup fiends

well i was in the middle of creating a post doing just that and the window was closed on me so now i'm here to retype what i was in the middle of and that was a call and response by saying no amount of makeup is going to get me into wanting to wear the fruit roll up vests i saw on the store section. Not only that, I'm not going to lie if I had to be in charge of product placement for the new makeup it would be hard to decide whether to put it under face coverings or home goods. I'm seriously just as happy buying something from the Dior Rouge collection but I spent a lot of my money already. Back to the website, trust me when I tell you don't spend too much time staring at the home page, it'll compell you like it did me to visit. visit. visit. visit. and then it reminded me of one of those internet maze games like don't touch the edge except that just when you think you've come upon a siezure sensitive site, it's actually the opposite and very calming. sort of like back to basics suddenly it's 1994 again and how can i visit i can't even get off page 1? i'm happy to model the new makeup though so with the scabbed up sunburn i have on my nose right now, i'll be representing urban decay quite well i think actually.

whatcha got?

SMGDH I'm in the wrong gosh darn industry.

I also don't think either one of those hands in the Picture with Damaris (new song title who's with me ala Dinner with Delores) belongs to Prince.
