Face facts
The solo rocks The solo IS gratuitous and out of place and inappropriat cos It takes attention away from the tribute to a legend and all onto prince who never played or knew George Both things are true Imagine a tribute to prince and then an artist he never knew or played with comes and slays it and makes it all about him Seriously doubt ppl here would like that [Edited 5/4/21 16:20pm]

face facts it is common during r'n'r hall of fame ceremonies to have an all star jam featuring that year nominees. tHE ONLY guy who didn't deserve to be on that stage is Dhianni Harrison. It's very stupid to have a guy who can't play and can't sing on stage just because he is son of a legend. If his dad was not who he was Dhianni would never ever ever play on that stage. Prince was honest about his delivery, except the body guard part there was no calculation at all

What I like about this edit is that you can see more band member reactions. I wondered what Marc Mann and Jeff Lyne thought about Prince’s solo, how they reacted, etc. I haven’t seen any interviews with them where they get into it. But now we have this new director’s cut. You can see Marc Mann enjoying Prince’s backward lean while solo-ing at about 4:49, where Mann is looking around Lynne to get a good view. I’m actually surprised by how much he seems to be enjoying it, considering he apparently took both solos during the rehearsals. And I think Jeff Lynne is enjoying the solo, too, although I can’t see much of an expression from him. Only thing I don’t like about this edit is the split screens during the solo. I find that distracting. "Love & honesty, peace & harmony"

Looked up Marc Mann because I never heard of him before and stumbled upon this Who caught Prince's guitar? Takumi Suetsugu Well, now we know. According to a report from Minnesota Public Radio's the Current (via Facebook group the People of Paisley Park), one of his guitar techs, Takumi Suetsugu, was in charge of not only catching the guitar but specifically handing it to Oprah Winfrey. I believe that prefers to the hall of fame performance we are discussing.I remember reading on here that oprah received that guitar during the show. I had forgotten all about it till now [Edited 5/4/21 21:11pm]

So what if it was his dad? If your dad is a dentist should your son do procedures with patients whn it's clear he is not a doctor?

you guys are really showing yourselves lol. as i said he was just strumming along, he was not leading the performance. you cant compare that to a dental procedure (lol wtf)

I don' think Prince got to choose the length of his solo.

really? my impression was that he pushed the limits of how much time he had to play.

I think Prince’s guitar needed a cigarette after that

. Yes, a sleepy sounding set of dudes does honor to whatever. So when Prince setps in the song becomes 'awake' and fresh. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

You're both about as fucking wrong as you can be. Dahni Harrison is a fine guitar player and musician. You should look him up before you speak. A person can be a great musician while also thinking Prince is a showboater. They aren't mutually exclusive. Fucking sycophants.

You dingdongs would be shitting your pants in awe if this was a Prince:

. Sure. You would. Why would I? A sleepy song, nothing exciting. I will replay the Undertaker video to compensate. Yes, we have higher standards. We need more to be in the area of where you thought a few 'dingdongs' would be. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Ok so here we go.Dhanni sings flat on this track.he can't carry a tune.He "plays guitar" on a beginner level, you know those guys who need to lock in their left hand in order to catch a chord. I will not react because you wrote that me and others who don't support your opinion are dingdongs and synchopats. If Dhianni's dad was not George we would never ever heard about Dhanni. And this is the last time you insulted me,next time be ready for the same treatment. Vaya Con Dios Steakfinger.
