Prince played on the Oscars

For the category of hair and makeup, as a transition music they played "Makeup" the Vanity version... but then a few minutes later (still on this category I think) played the horn turn around section at the end of "Mountains"

Oh wait... Questlove is the "DJ" (musical director). Figures.

Makeup, you mean the Vanity 6/Susan version. I loved hearing Mountain and the music they were playing after Tyler Perry did his speech sound like an ode to Prince's sound. And Oh wait.. Questlove is "that guy over there"

Isn't that what I said? Yes the odd instrumental Prince-esque music almost sounded like some dissected core idea in "Pop Life", but could it be some unheard track?

You just said Vanity as if Vanity is talking on the record, not Susan and you didn't add the 6.

The music could be an unheard track, we never know and then again maybe we will. I'm just always glad when someone gives Prince a nod.

Am I wrong to have thought back in the day that Horny Pony was a response to trying to get Da Butt energy?

You do realize Prince was rich and patted himself on the back a lot, and patted the backs of his Hollywood friends too, as they did his?

It's a whole different energy today

These shows are nothing like in the 80s

.

.

they threatened the homeless out of the area so the Oscars could be hosted. Entitled hypocrites

Has john legend left the country yet? after threatening for the 3rd or 4th time

Outisde of this year's Covid crushed show, what's an example of the vibe being different than in the 80's?

And Prince was a rich celebrity who often partied with hollywood actors, and even invited them to hang at private dinners. He also attended awrds show including the Oscars a few times, right?

Love that clip! Prince was looking sharp too. And the guy that won was the same stage height? I expected him to tower over Prince.

Oscars are outdated all award shows of that ilk are

Art is subjective not for anyone but each listener or viewer to decide

Thus includes awards for number of singles or albums sold or best video... It's all about how much money was thrown and how the image looks on social media. So it's fake! It's rare something sells now without money or marketing. Maybe the money and marketing awards should become a thing. Be transparent.

Good musical choices though wink
