The Truth is a fine record. I'd give it an 8 but it's not Prince in his comfort zone at all. It's the closest he's come to sounding like Dylan or those acoustic troubadour songwriters. The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

ONe thing that always strikes e about this album is how great Prince's voice and vocal delivery is where it's really allowed to take center stage.

^ Well part of the reason for that is probably if you brickwall the sound over the acoustic guitar it's gonna get drowned out. So production is thin. Im looking forward to listening to this on record. I loved it when i first heard it. Although I really think that the prices charged for new vinyl is A ripoff. I try and do all my buying in 2nd hand shops or record fairs, but will have to pay out for this one.

leadline said: I hope it is not purple vinyl, they seem to want overuse this color where it has absolutely no relavence. ONA for example, that vinyl should have been ivory white or clear white, perhaps with the black piano notes moving out an inch or so from center. THAT would have been relavent. Agreed. He had colour themes for so many projects/eras. The purple is totally overused.

I’ve never participated in RSD before. Does this mean that the titles released on record store day are only available in limited amounts just for that day? Or will the estate be also be releasing it at a later date?

Versace Exp. was later released on CD (vinyl?), so I guess this will be too.

My thoughts are that the RSD exclusive will be purple and the STORE version will be regular black as that would answer why the description states purple vinyl
The "Purple" has been omitted from the RSD website so it sure looks like black vinyl for the RSD maybe the Purple is for the STORE as i'm sure there will be some difference from the RSD unless it's just a limited exclusive [Edited 4/9/21 12:54pm] he might have better luck if he was drummin with his Dick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With RSD the quantity is listed on their website and depending on your location and stores you have that deal with RSD then the better the chance of getting it, this release has 13,000 made which means you shouldn't have a problem finding it though be warned there are some big stores with RSD that sometimes get a whole bunch but 13,000 is a safe bet but I wouldn't wait past that day if you want it right away. Also with RSD there are two Billings, one is Record Store Day exclusive which means this is it no plans for a future release, but if it says Record Store Day First that means a label will eventually be releasing it usually a few months down the line. Just put it on my wish list at the store where I usually get these things. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

The 1st time I heard The Truth album in its entirely, I said at the time it was THE worst Prince album ever! . Granted, it was basically Prince's very own MTV Unplugged episode without any involvement of MTV or ViaCON for that matter. The title track & Circle Of Amore were THE only 2 tracks that were good [IMO]. But the album overall was disappointing to my ears because Prince's music without electricity was just not natural! . But these days [it's 2021 at the time of posting!], at an older mature age of 46, I can listening to The Truth album occasionally out of the habit of listening to classical, jazz, & blues more than before. Maybe it was not so much the fault of Prince as much as it may have been more my fault because I was not ready in the 1990's for that album as much as I was finally ready for it in the 2020's. I listened to Comeback the day my dad died, cried and don't think I've listened to it since. I should break it out.
