A classic muppet show performance from the opening skit to the musical numbers with the muppets and back stage rapport. This episode of Muppets Tonight was not strange at all. The only odd/tragic thing is that this was recorded just after Prince lost his son, but he put his game face on and carried on despite his pure grief.

She gave her Angels indeed (which at the time was an unreleased track).

Yes. If anyone ever doubted Prince's chops as an actor, his game face on the Muppets settled that.
No one knew at the time.
No special consideration.

U think the OP wws just quoting the title of the article, which is usually written by the editors.

From almost the moment it was released, I thought "Starfish and Coffee" would be an ideal song for a kids show. When prince performed it on Muppets Tonight, I couldn't stop smiling. He was great on the show and I loved the jokes that were cracked at his expense.

I truly wish he could/would have done more TV and film.

The appearance is quite charming and humanizing, but to me it felt like the end of the subversive, edgy, oddball image that Prince had nurtured throughout the 80s. I must admit, I thought that it was a bit lame at the time... call me a cynic.

The Bear @ the beginning was witty. I didn't realize the Muppets were so funny.

It was extremely out-of-character for Prince. A great moment though!

yes

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
