Albums You Still Haven't Purchased

On another thread, we were discussing these Sony releases. It came to mind that I still don't own N.E.W.S., One Nite Alone, One Nite Alone Live, or Crystal Ball (5-disk version). It took me years to buy one of the concert copies of Musicology, then somehow ended up with the regular retail verison on CD, as well. Not a favorite album for me, yet I own two copies.

So what albums have you never purchased or don't otherwise own, at all? We're talking ones that have been released on CD, not virtual things like Xpectation, The Slaughterhouse, The Chocolate Factory.

Any physical format counts here. LP, CD, cassette.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

For me there is only 3 albums I havent purchased and i have very good reasons.
The Black album-it is out of print the last i checked and it runs for a few hundred.
20ten-I have been paranoid about buying it on ebay because none of the sellers live in the USA.Idk if CD from the uk will play in the US.
ONA piano and live albums- it is out of print also and I didn't have my own money and was too young when it originally released in 2002 bit that's about to change because it's been repackaged as "Up all night with Prince".So when I get that stimulus check I will be buying it.

Cds aren't region specific like dvds or blurays - that should not be any kind of problem.
Surprised Black Album is pricey.

For me ONA piano is the only original album I don't have. Have a cd-r but didn't really like it at the time - was going to get the vinyl (as well as Versace Experience) but want to get a better turntable setup first...not really a high priority at the moment though....I already have enough Prince music to last several lifetimes to be truly honest.

Just checked and the black album USED goes for $50 and NEW condition goes for around $155.I refuse to buy used cds.I am just picky like that.
Maybe one day the estate will reissue that album.I do have it on cassette from a long time ago but dont have a cassette player.
Thanks I will have to purchase 20ten very soon.
The Versache experience....I'm not sure how I feel about that one.I listened to it once or twice since I have had it.Its certainly not a essential release and best for collectors. But it's so short, its more of a maxi single than a album right? Ofcourse I may be wrong.

I live in the US. I've ordered a hand full of import cds from the UK from different sellers and i never had any issues. I was weary ordering from a seller in China, as they had little feed back withing months. But I got my cd and was happy with it

Obviously shippjng over seas can be a bit high, But it wasnt too pricey

One Nite Alone.

Never bought it only because I had a 6 disc bootleg and at the time I was only making $11.00 an hour as a single young man. Didnt seem that necessary to me. Later I found it at the library and just copied it.

You are a bad bad fan.

LOL

All jokes aside, from ''The Cault... Old Friends For Sale'' on, I didn't buy them immediately when they were released, but only when the prices went down, often straight after it's release.

Most Prince releases over her ein Europe went quickly straight to the bargain pile.

Which was sad and OK at the same time.

There I nearly lost interest in Prince.

I never bought NEWS. Wish I had for the sake of having it. A friend burned me a copy and I found it to be rather uninspiring.
I’ve been informed that my opinion is worth less than those expressed by others here.

This one I bought, found to be terrible, and sold it.
I dont own all the albums released in the 00s and 10s.... some are just copies.
And I think I'm ok with that.

A CD is a CD is a CD. They're not Region encoded like DVDs or VHS tapes.

Region free is a thing with DVD, they aren't all regions locked the specification specifically allows for a region free disc, so it's worth checking for any specific one you want to buy. VHS isn't region coded at all but you will need compatible NTSC or PAL equipment depending on the format of the tape. In the UK many tv's and vhs players were multi format, so could play either.

RIP sad

I'm aware. Region free DVDs weren't always a thing. The only PAL VHS I have is the Ghosts movie by MJ.

Most DVDs I've bought are still region-locked (though you can buy a region-free DVD players). Blu-rays, on the other hand, are often region-free (though some Sony blu-ray players won't play region-free blu-rays because they can't handle 50hz).
