"Purple Rain" Album on Amazon is Incorrect

As I'm playing the album on Amazon Music "I Would Die 4 U" fades out and does NOT smash into Baby I'm A Star.

It ends and then Baby I'm a Star repeats the ending we just heard?

Very jarring and not the album!

Yes, the non-remastered streaming and download version of the album has been wrong on all platforms since day 1.

The last time I listened to Parade on one of the streaming sites Kiss was the single version... it was a little odd.

I purchased Parade from iTunes. Kiss is the single version. Originally they had the wrong version of Girls & Boys, too. It faded out rather than rolling into Life Can Be So Nice (I think that version is from the Girl 6 Soundtrack). iTunes eventually got the correct version of Girls & Boys, but still has the incorrect version of Kiss.

Many mistakes on streaming platforms have been reported over the years.

I'm wondering though, where does this version of IWD4U come from? Is it the 7'' edit? It kind of fades out but only for a split second after the album cut ends. Is this what u're talking about?

That's the one. Same as the Kiss 7" is on Parade streaming.

I agree, but I don't think the streaming services themselves are to blame. They just load what the record companies give them. If the wrong version is posted, that's because the content provider/record company gave them the wrong file.

Not really. It's all done thru platforms called agregators, you can even do it yourself with your own record if you want to: you just need to upload the flac or wav files and any other relevant information (credits, indicia, cover art) to the agregator. It then takes charge of formats convertions and puts it everywhere. It's possible of course that record companies hire third parties to do that, but even then, they would have to provide the files in the first place. So the only person to blame there is the record company for giving that job to the intern (and I'm pretty sure they actually do that, because it's a very boring and repetitive job if you have to digitalize then upload dozens upon dozens of masters every day, particularly when they had to do it with huge back catalogues at first). Now IDK how masters are organized at WB's, because you'd assume they have a master for the whole record together not one separate thing for each song that could explain 7'' being confused with album cuts, so I have no clue how that crap happened in the first place, but someone somewhere at WB fucked up, that much I can tell.
