Not sure? Where you been...

Good song - the 12" is the classic, not the album version.I also love how Prince looks/dances in the 12" version of the video.

Honestly, the fact we have to talk/debate about it here says enough.

No .. very overrated song.
I remember when it was about to come out in 1990.
It was rumored to be another "When Doves Cry"
what a letdown

This song is done in the style of Broadway Musical through a Prince sound. If you can understand that, you will appreciate it as good as a Sondheim hit with a bit a funky attached. It's a good song. I think some of the fans don't appreciate it as much as they should.

It's not bad. I was there at the time, though. I think the general concensus was that, while this was ok, Prince wasn't writing the big hit singles anymore. Which, of course, proved right.

Yay. 100%.
.
Album version, not the extended.
I’ve been informed that my opinion is worth less than those expressed by others here.

Personally, yes, but radio doesn't. Of course all they ever play is Kiss, Little Red Corvette, When Doves Cry, Let's Go Crazy, Purple Rain, Raspberry Beret...I haven't even heard Cream or TMBGITW in ages

It is quite an interesting song, but it doesn't really gel with me, never did. Not the best pick for a single IMO.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...
