Winchester Cathedral - anyone old enough? As soon as I heard "All My Dreams" on the SOTT, it reminded me so much of Winchester Cathedral - a 1966 semi-hit by The New Vaudeville Band. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

And maybe inspired Paul McCartney with his retro genre ideas the next year as well, specifically "When I'm Sixty-four"... and many more after. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Songs recorded using a megaphone, or similar effect, dating back to Rudy Vallee in 1929
who were asked to perform live as The New Vaudeville Band (as that band didn't really exist), and also invited by McCartney to appear in Magical Mystery Tour (although John Lennon appeared to be less convonced about their inclusion). ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

"Semi-hit"? It was number one for three weeks in the US! Pretty big.

Not to be confiused with "Wild Honey Pie" which I always imagine the Texas Chain Saw Massacre family performing around a fire on a calm night. McCartney has a strange tendency to make crazy hillbilly music. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid
