Most of Dan Reed Network's output, too. World Has a Heart Too is channelling Sign O The Times hard.

I don't think songs that came out before Prince hit large really count (?)

Unless I'm missing the spirit of the thread.

There were no qualifiers.

That's why I also included "A Case of You."

Can you really listen to those 2 songs and not think they sound Princely?

I know he loved her but no Joni Mitchell song is remotely "Princely" and visa-versa.

Won't Let Me Go by Amos Lee.

It sounds almost exactly like Do Me Baby...chords and everything. To be honest, im surprised the Estate hasnt flagged it.

"You know, this is funky but I wish he'd play like he used to, old scragglyhead son of a...*smack* OOH!"

"Who's the foo singing will it's would"

Janet’s Just A Little While gives Dirty Mind era a bit. Interestingly it wasn’t a Jam & Lewis joint but Dallas Austin.

I've always said "Debra" by Beck is the best Prince song Prince never made.

Like OK Go, I believe Debra is 100% supposed to be Beck doing Adore.

"Nicotine and Gravy" - Beck

Slave 4 U (even the title is a tribute) was Pharrell Williams (writer & producer) letting everyone know he had a copy of Nasty Girl.

Blood Orange — "You're Not Good Enough"

I love Blood Orange! That was the first song I heard from him as it was on the CD that came with the Prince's MOJO Magazine feature.

.

Pretty much all of Dev Hyne's albums as Blood Orange has a purple influence. Most notably Cupid Deluxe and the funk of his follow up Freetown Sound.
